Science Do we live inside a computer simulation?

I find it amazing that this thread has made it to six pages without the relevant xkcd showing up even once:

Very interesting. Especially the idea of time step. Which exists in computer simulations, but doesn't seem to exist in the real world.

Ever heard of asynchronous CPU? We have time steps and clock rates because it's simpler and apparently makes more sense to regular human logic.

Theoretically, this is the smallest time measurement that will ever be possible, roughly 10−43 seconds.

Even more interesting. Even if there is a difference between "smallest time step measurement" and "smallest time step possible".

Since speed has a theoretical limit, it makes "sense" that mass and time have theoretical limits too... In both micro- and macro- dimensions...
