I am encountering problems with the in-game scenario editor and Station Building Blocks.

I like to build my own ships and stations by spawning modules and parts with the in-game scenario editor, and then using it to dock and "assemble" my ship.
This has worked pretty well in the past, I was able to assemble a mile long ship in LEO, and successfully fly it to Mars.

However, recently I have been experiencing crashes and errors. I have over 6Gb of mods, and while I was able to construct things previously, I assumed all the same that the problem must be mod-related. It basically crashed the game and corrupted my custom scenarios while attempting to spawn certain modules and ships. Ten hours of work could be lost by one errant module, and there was no way to know if a selected module would ruin everything before trying it. Very annoying.

In any case, I did a fresh install and used ONLY mods that were
A-Necessary
B-Compatible
C-Tested

The list of mods and addons is as follows:

-Orbiter 2006 P1
-Orbiter 2006 P1 patch
-Orbiter Scenario Editor 1.5.1
-Spacecraft3.dll
-Station Building Blocks 4.0
-Station Building Blocks 4.1
-UMMU 2.0
-UCGO 2.0

I assumed that with such a clean install, there would be no problems.
However, my problem now is that for some reason the in-game editor will not recognise all of the SBB modules, according to the SBB Operations Manual there should be many modules that are missing, and it's practically impossible to build anything good with what I have access to.

I made sure everything is installed correctly, in the right directory, and is compatible with my version of Orbiter. I have been wrestling with this problem for weeks, any help would be greatly appreciated.

My channel, with the construction, launch, and Mars arrival is here if anyone is interested: http://www.youtube.com/user/AkamuSlayer?feature=mhee

What errors are there? Can you post your Orbiter.log?

As for missing building blocks in scenario editor, it's because some of them are Spacecraft3 vessels, and you need to convert them to vessels using configuration file to make them appear in scenario editor.

With the fresh install i have had no errors, save for the problem with the modules not appearing in the editor. Errors in my heavily modded game are to be expected with that many crazy mods I suppose, it shouldn't be a problem.

So, for the missing modules to appear in the in-game editor, and to be spawnable, I simply need to convert the files? I will follow your links and see if I can do it, thank you for your help, I will get back to you with the results.

Ok, your solution worked marvelously, thank you! Converting the files was very simple, and all of the animations work on the modules. I have been building another ship, and everything has gone perfectly so far, but now suddenly, for no apparant reason, Orbiter is crashing when I try to open the in-game editor (F4>Custom>Scenario Editor), and the ship I have built disappears when I zoom in with the camera. I have changed absolutely nothing, I don't get what prompted this error.
The game launches fine, and I can load both my save and my current state, but I get an APPCRASH when I try to open the editor.

Here is the log:

I now also get an APPCRASH when loading the current state.
I still have no changed anything, nor did I alter anything in-game.

And now the ship is invisible when I zoom in with the camera in all cases.
Everything was going well, not it seems to be falling apart.
Again, I have not changed a thing.

I'm newbie here and I've absolutely no experience with Orbiter 2006, so the experts may think that's a stupid advice, but why don't you try with Orbiter 2010 ? Maybe the scenario editor has some changes that could help you to manage your trouble...

The mods that I want to use are compatible with 2006, and I've always used 2006, just general preferance.
I still have no solution for the instability.
Could it perhaps be that I'm using a 64bit OS?
