It looks like my last post was sometime in 2011 and apart from an occasional lurk now and then I've not really been on the forums much at all.
What have I been up to? Well I started and finished a mechanical engineering degree via the Open University managing to get a first class degree alongside working full time.
Ironically one of the main reasons I started the degree in the first place was that I didn't get aerodynamics enough for the addon I was trying to make at the time, however because of the degree workload I didn't have time to touch Orbiter or addon development since then.
Anyway Orbiter2006 was where I did most of my dabbling into the world of creating addons and Orbiter2010 was only just out when I left. Now I see 2016 is on the go.
I now work at a university as an engineering technical instructor and one of the lecturers is looking at adding space simulation to the current automotive and flight simulation. Someone mentioned I was into Orbiter back in the day and I've been picked as the 'expert' to look at the various sim offerings and see what will be suitable. I think Orbiter can do what we want but will need some custom development on my part - I expect I'll have a question or three over the coming few days/weeks.
I don't know how significant the changes to 2016 are with respect to addon development but at this point I've got to remember how to set myself up for programming let alone how to do it.
