So I'm trying to recreate the Apollo 9 mission according to the scenario pack and tutorial on OH but have run into a bit of a snag: When docked with the LM, Attitude MFD (v3.2) can't seem to handle maintaining a target attitude; it will constantly oscillate with max thrusters around the target and never stabilize itself. This is strange, since the manual I'm using specifically says to use Attitude MFD.

Edit: Bah, strange shenanigans. I reloaded the scenario and it seems fine...does Attitude MFD maybe not reassess vessel mass and CoG unless you reload a scenario? (I had previously been playing since LM extraction)

controlling attitude universally is tricky, and you either rotate slower than necessary (and use too much fuel) or rotate faster than RCS allows, so you use colossal amounts of fuel, and may never stabilise, its all in the algorithms.

in that acse, its best if you take manual control, move to target attitude nice and slow, then only engage the AP when youre close to it anyway, this relieves load on the AP and usually works for unstable attitude control (though ive never used that MFD, but it works with IMFD/LTMFD and orbiter's built in controls)

Yes, I did ensure I was near the target attitude before engaging AP but even then it was constantly oscillating around the target (only by a few degrees, but using full thrusters the whole time anyway). Whatever it was, it seems to have stopped reoccurring. :I
