You could consider Park to be the "zero-torque" gear maybe. In the Borg-Warner 35,only one I know, the Park position physically puts a pawl into the output shaft, locking it in place. Has safety features, and won't go in till the car is nearly stationary, but you can still get a nasty "rock&roll" if you try too early.
I say zero torque, as that box had two epicyclic gear packs, front planetary gears drove the second annular ring I think. You got different ratios by braking bands around the annular gears. The torque converter gave you the variable ratio.
What I mean is the gears were all in constant mesh.
Long time ago, and I only saw them at technical-college, any probs and they went off to specialsts.
