I setup a scenario with the DGIV to the current time for its location in Florida. The map display shows what parts of the world are in daylight and in darkness but this was way off from what it should have been i.e. UK and Europe are shown in darkness when actually in daylight.

Should this be accurate?

1. Have you converted EST (IIRC) to UTC? Have a look at http://www.time.gov
2. The most precise setup can be obtained by using Ajaja's spice.dll (search around these forums) and downloading kernels from JPL (NAIF) at Pasadena, CA. This includes leap seconds and the best available data on Earth and Sun's rotation and position.

EST to UTC is likely where I'm going wrong doh.

Thanks for your help, I'll check out spice.dll.
