I downloaded Orbiter a couple of weeks ago when looking for add-ons to my Flight Simulator 2004, and I'm now completely addicted, much to my wife's annoyance as she's rarely seen me since! I've managed to get into orbit using the DG, but I'm still struggling to rendesvous with ISS. But I'll get there if it kills me! Thank you Martin for a wonderful (if challenging) simulator (and I can't believe it's free!)

Welcome! The first time you dock to the ISS is quite a feeling!

Welcome to the community and to Orbiter!

I suggest downloading and reading the free Orbiter ebook Go Play In Space by Bruce Irving to help you with the ISS rendezvous:
http://www.migman.com/orbiter/orbiter.htm

It is full of tutorials that will teach you basic concepts & techniques that will help you enjoy Orbiter even more.

Chapter 5 in particular is a tutorial called Dancing in the Dark which covers rendezvous and docking techniques using the stock Delta Glider.

Hope this helps.

Again, welcome!

Hello and
:welcome:
To the forum!

Rendezvous and docking aren't that hard once you get the technique right. It just requires a lot a patience. Good luck!

Agreed, Go PLay in Space is very helpful, also Orbital Operations Manual by Jared Smith:

Still can't quite get there! Patience, patience, patience!

Welcome!

Think that might be another one for 'You know you're addicted to Orbiter when...'
http://www.orbiter-forum.com/showthread.php?t=1606

Your SO comes to complain about having not seen you for ages, and you harass them for not using the radio ( which is your mobile phone ) and you point out 'Of course you haven't seen me for ages!, i'm on my way to the Moon!'

I did it! I finally managed to rendesvous and dock with the ISS (alright so I used the docking autopilot in DGIV for the final manouvre, but what the hell, it's a start!). In fact I did it twice just to make sure it wasn't a fluke!
