2D panel glitch

hi. I recently bought myself a new laptop, and I immediately installed orbiter on it. when I downloaded a few ships (DGIV, DGXR1, and like) I noticed a problem. basically, any part of the 2D panel that's supposed to be transparent is solid white, as you can see on the attached picture. I have no idea how this happened, or how to fix it.

I don't have this problem on my desktop, just my laptop. they both run vista, but if it matters, the laptop uses premium while the desktop uses basic.

can anyone help?

Check upon the used video device. Try always enumerate devices.
With any luck choosing another device will solve this.
It is most likely a driver problem, so updating those might work as well.
