I was noticing that Venus' position was coming around again and thought there could be another inner to outer sling possibility. (there almost always is). Last evening I found and flew one (EVVEJN, no saturn) but it had me ejecting and almost hitting the moon which sent the craft quite a bit off course. So I redid the date and came up with this Earth, Venus, Venus, Earth, Jupiter, Saturn and Neptune parade. The tough part was the 030 heading launch from Habana. I chose a heading of about 26 to 27 degrees to compensate for the Earths rotation. Note that the orbits to icept on the trip from Venus to Earth should be set to "2". It sometimes slips down if off course.

Yes there is always a chance at EVVE. The trick it seems is to get the slings to point the throw at Jupiter after the inner sling wind-up. That is why this one did a 2 orbit wait after the second Venus encounter. "i was in the right place..... but it must-a been the wrong time"

I tweaked the departure date and direction a little bit and found a grand tour with EVVEJSUN (all the planets other than Mercury and Mars). But it does take a while with a total of 30 years to get from Earth launch to Uranus and another 90 years or so from Uranus to Neptune. During that time it floats out to the Kuiper belt. It could likely do reverse slings of the planets to come back to Earth.

Kuiper belt sample return?? While at the Ap of the orbit going from Uranus to Neptune the relative speed with kuiper objects would probably average on the order of about 1200 to 1300 m/s. Not huge. Too bad there are no kuiper objects in the sim to play with.

Orbiter 2010 has the option to set time steps so running this flight could be a 1/2 day project not a week long project.
