    Problem STS Historical Scenarios CTD

I'm ashamed to say I did not. I didn't, for whatever reason, link the two mentally. Thanks for the shove in the right direction. EDIT: Problem resolved. In my neophyte condition, I'd apparently grabbed an incompatible version of the STS Payloads download. Thanks for the help!

    Problem Orbiter Won't Launch

I am by no means an expert, but it looks like you have a good system. I just checked my Orbiter executables. I have them set to run as "admin". Perhaps that would help?

    Problem STS Historical Scenarios CTD

I thought they were ShuttleFleet4.8 files, but I didn't see anything in the documentation about them. I don't see the download in any of my folders, and I don't see it in the Generic Mod list. Not a big deal. But thank you! The only real reason I want to do it is to avoid screwing around...

    Problem STS Historical Scenarios CTD

Just me, huh? Nuts. Oh well. I suppose I could just copy some of the parameters into other scenarios.

    Problem STS Historical Scenarios CTD

Hi all. I looked for a solution to this, but any search criteria I entered inundated me with what appeared to be irrelevant threads. In both Orbiter 2010 and 2016, I get a crash to desktop any time I try to load any of the "STS Historical Scenarios". There are two exceptions, and I think it's...

Humor Received a "merry Christmas" wish from OrbiterSound

HA! I had no idea there were these "Easter eggs" in these programs.

Humor Received a "merry Christmas" wish from OrbiterSound

So I have a few moments before putting my lamb on the grill, so I decided to bring my XR5 back from Venus. I fire up Orbiter, launch my scenario, and was greeted with "We wish you a merry Christmas" on Orbiter Sound. LOL I wonder if there are any other little surprises in there.

    Book recommendations: space exploration history

I would look through the choices here: http://www.spacecampstore.com/Space-Books%2C-DVDs%2C-%26-Posters/ Might have something suitable for a 3 year old. As an aside, one of the best books I've read about the ins-and-outs of the Shuttle program (but not for a 3 year old) was "Riding...

    OHM StateSaver Autosave

This has truly been a headache saver, especially for a new guy just learning the ropes. Thank you.

    Question Joystick mapping?

I should've put that in, but it's a Logitech Extreme 3D. Thanks for the reply. I'll have a look. With the Generic Mods Enabler, I'm not too concerned about compatibility these days. LOL

    Question Joystick mapping?

Ran a search and didn't see anything along this line (not that I could post to with the "necroposting" rule being invoked, anyway). I like using the joystick and slider throttle for space flight, not just atmospheric, but there isn't a native way that I could see to map functions to buttons...

Scenario Space Shuttle Atlantis reentry scenarios

Two questions that may help others with more experience answer: Is your difficulty specific to those two scenarios? Or is it a difficulty in re-entering with the stock Shuttle, and then perhaps not scenario specific? Everything I've read here indicates that the aerodynamic model on the stock...

Scenario Space Shuttle Atlantis reentry scenarios

I don't think so, unless perhaps you're already in orbit at the time. Every time I've tried to use the Fleet in 2016, the vessel falls forward on the launch pad and journeys to the center of the earth. I suppose with enough fuel we could make it out the other side of the planet.

    Hello from Rocket City!

Thanks for the welcome, all! Figured there'd be a few from north Alabama around these parts. Can't believe I'd been a flight simulator fan for so long before stumbling across the Orbiter section in Simviation. Quickly becoming addicted.

Update Updated XR Vessels for Orbiter 2016 Released

Love the XR2. I've just made my first lunar trip and landed on "Brighton Beach", and really enjoyed the ease of use this ship offers, with a dose of "don't screw this up" systems management. Edit: Crap. I think I get it now. Withdraw the question. Leaving the compliments. Thanks again...

    Hello from Rocket City!

Hello world! New member in Huntsville, AL, where I work as an aerospace engineer in an office that's a stone's throw from Wernher von Braun's old office. I'd just started using Orbiter 2010 when 2016 came around, and I noticed that most of my Bing searches for help led me here, so I decided to...
