I mean I would like to add that. But with the interior I imagine being like this like this:
And the frontal view being like this:
I dont really see where a window could be added to aid with landing. I mean, the forward windows are canted down a bit and not as obstructed by the bulge of the...
Finished the Main engine section pretty much.
Only landing gear, rcs nozzles and radar and itll ready for the final cleanup and dreaded UV Unwrap
From there just have some fun with it in substance painter finally
Welp, I know what I was doing wrong. PRELOAD was last on the list of calls.
And as you can see, the textures work without calling them on Base.cfg. In fact, Base.cfg is as default even though I have several mods installed that add bases. Maybe it refers to the Base name .cfg? Like Brighton.cfg?
Tried that too like this
MESH
FILE Hangar
POS 142 0 0
SCALE 1 1 1
ROT 90
PRELOAD
TEX1 Hangar 1 1
END
Still the same problem. Also Ive been looking around some addon .cfg bases and they just call the file, not the texture?
Yeah, but the thing is that theres the whole docking mechanism below the cockpit, so no way I could add a window to see down. Maybe a side one like in helicopters? Or a camera could be added for seeing through the mfd?
So ive been tackling modelling game assets more seriously now. And my last project (Dragonfly redux) has proven quite instructive. Now I wanted to use what Ive learnt there on a new model, so I present you, the Shuttle-A Mk.IX. Still in its modelling phase, Im taking care to not make a mess of...
Ive been modelling some props for orbiter. like this hangar
Thing is, when I try to add it to a base (like Brighton Beach) not only the shading is all wrong but also the textures wont show:
I renamed the .msh file to see if the problem were my mesh and/or textures, but they seem fine when...
That would be perfect. Orbiter and OpenOrbiter are names easily distiguished one from the other and OpenOrbiter is pretty clear in that it means the version derivated from open sourcing it
Yeah, thats why I used the past tense haha. Also I realized my modelling skills are not up to game asset standards so I dropped it
Great tip! How would you do it? I just added a normal to make them look more 3d
Yeah! I actually wanted to do a 3d vc for it when d3d9 gets proper cockpit shadig or skybolt gets integrated into openOrbiter. It feels so much like a real spaceship with all those systems and switches.
Hopefully someone will be able to finish this messy model of mine haha
So when OpenOrbiter was announced, I thought it would be a good idea to use that opportunity to practice modelling a bit. So I did the dragonfly. Turns out I still need a lot to learn (specially on the uv packing front) so the craft doesnt really look good in orbiter. So Ill leave it here if...
Hey kinda late, but some of us are here. Just not actively participating on the forum (aka stalking around). But I think the discord could be a good place if you want to reach into the masses, lots of games center around their discord server. Also I completely agree with 4throck, I've tried to...
