There is but it's really bad and doesn't work well. For an autopilot to work decent it needs to take into account and use everything trim, control surfaces, RCS, center of gravity and so on. those MFDs only use control surfaces and rcs if i remember correctly and because of that they can't...
Yeah, something like xr2 would be ideal.
DG 4 also has a mode that lets you control bank, pitch and AoA XR style but a bit less accurate. Still great compared to standard.
In my opinion these semi autopilots are the best compromise between full automation and you doing something instead of...
If you go on like this and maybe add some functionality to the station (like buttons and stuff like that) it may just be one of the most complete space station addons ever made for orbiter. (y) (y) (y)
I hate to be the annoying one here and post 2 problems in a week but it's a thing of "what has been seen cannot be unseen"
I've been making a moon to earth flight and this time i decided to make the trip slow, add some music and enjoy the view of our beautiful planet getting bigger and bigger...
Yep. It works. The music stopped on mars.
Hope you didn't break 20 other things by fixing this for such is life in software development.. .fix one thing, break 20 others
I tried both stable versions, same thing.
D3D9ClientR4.11-forOrbiter2016(r1355).zip - (7-Sep-2020)
D3D9ClientR4.7-forOrbiter2016(r1335).zip - (11-Aug-2020)
Here is how it should look like. Brand new client install, ignore the video res, i wanted the file to be small -> https://streamable.com/vjmhpo
and again, for mars it only happens at altitudes between about 6700 Km to about 4300 Km ... higher or lower than that .. everything is fine:)
You need to be higher, way higher for the bug to show up. Try to replicate it if you can pls. Get an orbiter client , install the last stable D3D patch and run my scenario, get into GL-01 that i spawned and look at mars from there.
It seems that the problem happens at certain altitudes, on mars...
No high res for Mars, High res for the moon. That's all i have atm. ( i will share the scenario if needed but really just open any default scenario, open scn editor, go to orbital parameters and place a ship in orbit around mars at about 6500 Km. Do an orbit of the planet and look at olympus...
Sometimes planets viewed from altitude shake and bend. It's almost like planets are made of rubber, it has a soft bend in it.
Load up a scenario and place a glider in orbit around mars at an altitude of 6488 Km. Look at Olympus mons and half of the planet how they shake inwards and outwards like...
It would be interesting, we have no nice realistic vessels for Venus exploration that are also optimized and made for Orbiter 2016.
Cool idea but lots of work i'm guessing.
Get IMFD. It has one of the most if not the most powerful map programs.
If you are a beginner you will be able to get to mars without much trouble.
If you put the effort and learn it you will be able to do incredible things with it.
Trans x is also quite nice and it's worth learning because...
