Installation Orbiter 2016 with D3D9 CTD in all scenarios

I already did that, from Mirror 4 of the Orbiter download page. I'll check if re-downloading from other mirrors works.

Installation Orbiter 2016 with D3D9 CTD in all scenarios

I have deleted my original O2016 installation, re-unzipped the vanilla core package and tried to directly run my installation without D3D9 (which forced to use the Intel HD Graphics CPU chip instead of the NVidia GPU). It CTDs for a different reason: **** Orbiter.log 000000.000: Build Aug 28...

Installation Orbiter 2016 with D3D9 CTD in all scenarios

Just tried re-downloading the core package from Mirror 4 and re-unzipping, but the program still crashes at the same point. Video settings are as below:

Installation Orbiter 2016 with D3D9 CTD in all scenarios

Unfortunately re-installing DirectX didn't work either and CTD continues to occur at the same point when Orbiter loads the celestial sphere.

Installation Orbiter 2016 with D3D9 CTD in all scenarios

I will check when I am back from work, as I think I installed the Feb. 2010 update instead of this one. I guess that doesn't affect older Orbiter versions, as O2010P1 is working well here?

Installation Orbiter 2016 with D3D9 CTD in all scenarios

(Hey guys, I'm back to O-F after 2 years of hiatus in using Orbiter! OK, more on that later, but if you still follow me on NSF and on Twitter you'll know that I'm as crazy as ever on following all aspects spaceflight..... :hailprobe:) After 1.5 years since Orbiter 2016 was released.....I...

    OHM Soyuz v1.0

I have a problem with adding custom fairings to the rocket: I was trying to move the existing Progress spacecraft and its related fairing in the Soyuz-FG/U add-on to this new version. It works....except that both parts of the fairing separates to the "left" when they should go "up" and "down"...

    OHM Soyuz v1.0

I've just come back to the forum for a small idea: would it be possible to add the Soyuz-2.1b version of the rocket to the add-on? I'm thinking of flying the Progress (maybe even Soyuz flights) to my polar orbit space station and it looks like the performance required might just be a bit too...

Launch News Kim Jong Un's newest star: North Korea Satellite Launch February 7, 2016

US reports apparently shows that the thingy did reach a 466 x 500 km, 97.4 deg. inclination orbit. :hmm:

Discussion The Ultimate Chinese Space Discussion Thread!

One small note - after troubles catching up with the spaceflight world lately with work burdens, I should be able to write up a whole thread reporting on 9 Chinese satellite launches happened in the 4th quarter of 2015. Then the normal reporting will resume with dedicated posts for the first 2...

Launch News Atlas V launch with GPS IIF-12, February 5, 2016

While facing highly uncertain future in the roads ahead, the "old school" launch service provider of the US continues to chug out launches after launches as the United Launch Alliance (ULA) seeks to broaden its customer base for the next few years as it re-enters the commercial market and will...

Updates The Iranian Space Program Thread

I wonder what would change in the Persian's wobbling "space program" with the easing down of political pressure from the West? Maybe they will scrap their missile program on paper and turn it into a open-to-the-world commercial launch service for cubesats and small satellites? After...

Launch News Kim Jong Un's newest star: North Korea Satellite Launch February 7, 2016

Anyone betting 1 US dollar that this launch will "intentionally fail" - no not being shot down by the Evil Americans (TM) - but that it will intentionally be guided on a ballistic trajectory? ;)

    Launch News Ariane 5 Flight VA228 with Intelsat 29e, January 27, 2016

For 2016, the European launch service provider is facing lots of wind shifts in the market as they continues to adapt to a world where serious competition is approaching quickly. And....well it seems that some effects have already crept in today. Like a shortage of riding satellites of the...

    Humor Random Comments Thread

Usually snow-talk here would only lead to me chuckling about the definition of "cold" in this side of the world.... ....but not this time. We just had sleet raining down today in HK with temps dropping to 2°C (mid-30s for the Americans), breaking a 60 years old record with chances of dropping...

    News Roscosmos News

A good rule of thumb for a new launch pad is that it is ready to support a launch after a Wet Dress Rehearsal (WDR) with a rocket has been completed. Usually the gap between it and the first flight is at most a few months (the Soyuz pad at CSG, for example, took 5 months from WDR to first launch...

Launch News Indian PSLV launch with IRNSS-1E, January 20, 2016

After the excitement of this year's first live coverage launch (*), we turn back to other spaceports of the world for a much more "conventional" one. ;) This one comes from India as ISRO comes on a sprint to complete their own "little GPS" - the Indian Regional Navigation Satellite System...

Launch News SpaceX Falcon 9 launch with Jason-3, January 17, 2016

Looks like the first stage hit hard again and broke a leg before falling. Yeah, landing on the sea isn't the easiest thing around..... :uhh:
