    OHM First in Space v1.0

Decoys won't help in current configuration (unless you rename one of the decoys to your Gemini once you deploy it :-) ) - chasing is currently done by target's name. Great idea to consider for future, though - to target the brightest thing you can find, that does not have ID responder :-)...

    OHM R-9 v1.1

I've posted a bugfix update of this addon, at version 1.1. In the original addon, a couple of files were missed that provided active spotlights on Pad 51. Nothing critical, but night launches look better with the lights on :-). I also tried to corner the bug of skirt element hanging over the...

    OHM First in Space v1.0

Ironically, the addon in this thread does not include Vostok :). But that's technicality, it very likely will - in some future. ---------- Post added at 11:12 AM ---------- Previous post was at 11:00 AM ---------- boogabooga - KML generation in this addon cannot be disabled. I did not think...

    OHM First in Space v1.0

Of course, a glitch like that could not escape the testing. So it was surely an Orbiter configuration problem, question is which one. I'd suspect stale version of D3D9 - versions earlier than 15 had problems with complex animations, and "tile" (which is really just a big mesh) can be...

    OHM R-9 v1.1

Interesting, will have a look. Yes, it may be specific to native client. Launching from silo in Orbiter is super-tricky (not sure if it was even ever done before!) Some very "intense" tricks are used for that... and, of course, 100% of development and 95% of testing was done on D3D9. I made sure...

    OHM First in Space v1.0

Some elements may be somewhat bright, but it is hard to adjust to all elements to be equally god and balanced. When you stand in the spotlights on a dark night, many things will look super-bright in real conditions. It is actually possible to try to tweak the lights (and many other features and...

    OHM R-9 v1.1

Urwumpe - I'd say 2 years. I started right after Vostok, so elapsed time is actually 4 years. But we both were quite busy with other nno-orbiter 'lives', so the task time was at least half of calendar time. I was hoping to release addons about once a year, but it turned out they could not be...

    OHM Spaceports v1.1

Plesetsk is definitely considered for future updates, but unfortunately it is the hardest of all R-7 sites, because its pads are hanging off the river bank. It was hard enough to approximate the 3D terrain shapes for current sites... So it is hard to estimate what may come first - Plesetsk...

    OHM R-9 v1.1

Yes, I myself was not able to get a good exit other than "respawning orbiter process", just like in my previous addons. Probably due to more complexities in the code... Did not see too much head tumbling in my tests... But early rockets were not picky about deployment attitude anyway - as...

OHM Vostok v1.1 (for external graphic clients)

Never! The orbits and launch times were calculated to have specific timing... not unlike now - Soyuz _can_ deorbit and land at night, but they hate it, do it only in kinds of emergencies... Early Vostok pilots had experimented in watching Earth at night, to figure out if it can be visually...

OHM Vostok v1.1 (for external graphic clients)

In a very brief way - VZOR was an ingeniously simple optical device on Vostok and Voskhod (and its "very upgraded" successors were used all the way on Soyuz as well). It involved a conical periscopic mirror - so that when you look directly through the window - on the peripheral of the window you...

OHM Vostok v1.1 (for external graphic clients)

Yes, of course it works with the native client, too. Just no real benefit in that mode compared to the original 1.0 version. A few small bugs fixed, no any performance boost, and a drawback of not having B3OP module...

OHM Vostok v1.1 (for external graphic clients)

You all are so welcome! :-) My apologies for not doing this sooner... In fact, this was supposed to be a part of my next project - but that project was being delayed over and over, for various reasons :-(. Still many-many months from readiness. But in the process I figured out all that is needed...

Hi Roman, Are you still active? Can I contact you about Vzor again, in D3D9 client? Andrej (igel)

    OHM Vostok

Thank you very much for the kind words! Yes, even now, more than one year from the release, I still feel a lot of satisfaction with this work, with all its aspects. Including the technical quality. Even though there are some "inefficiencies" under the hood, they don't show up in the presentation...

    Question Creating a Voskhod Launcher

I am pretty sure this will not work without major redoing and recompiling the module dlls. I can't even tell where it will break, there are hundreds of such places in the code. The modules in the Vostok project are tightly interconnected, and expect particular behaviours from each other at...

    OHM Vostok

Wow! That's quite a lot! And thanks so much for kind words. It so happened that in summer I am taking a (hopefully well-deserved) "vacation from Orbiter", as summer turned out to be very busy. Some time in the fall I hope to return to the "next set of projects" as I loosely define them (as they...

    OHM Vostok

It may be trickier than simply "going manual". Like in a true Vostok, in this addon there is no single manual/autopilot switch. You may turn manual mode for one system (like attitude control) - but the others (like retrofire burn timing) may remain in "auto", and may have to be disabled/enabled...

    OHM Vostok

Hm, that sounds strange... can Ctrl be intercepted by something else in the machine?.. Or may there be some national German keyboard issue?.. Do the non-Ctrl clicks work? Yes, the code is not that big secret, everyone can find it fairly easiy, so I got away with not publishing it the manual...
