    Skylab 1973 rebuild

The CMGs weren't coded specifically for the solar arrays.... it's for the movement/orientation of the entire space station itself

    Skylab 1973 rebuild

BrianJ made the tracking feature code for the HST_EX addon, which Max-Q adopted for his Better ISS addon. Alternatively, we could install/dock a CMG for the suntracking

    Skylab 1973 rebuild

Here's some of Skylab's TLE data retrieved from CelesTrak:

    Skylab 1973 rebuild

The movements were mostly gyroscopic, similar to how the Hubble maintains its lock with a specific target

    Skylab 1973 rebuild

The entire space station rotates to point toward the Sun whenever the ATM is in use, though I think this also became the permanent orientation of Skylab to prevent its interiors from heating up after it got damaged

Question Negishima Space Center for Orbiter 2016/OpenOrbiter

You can contact Pipcard himself about your plans of adapting Negishima for Orbiter2016 and OpenOrbiter

    Skylab 1973 rebuild

AMSO's CSM antenna wasn't designed to be stowable/deployable unless it is mounted on its own Saturn V rocket, so it is impossible to close it in any way

    Updates Boeing's CST-100 Starliner

Astronauts are specifically trained for possibly unexpected extended long-duration stays during their missions. This had also happened to the crew of MS-22 when their Soyuz has unexpectedly leaked coolant fluid to space, which has prompted them to extend their mission by another six months

So many addons that do not work

Yeah there's many of them that do not work anymore in newer versions. But you can make them compatible in your Orbiter installation if you know how to. For me the easiest ones to port are those addons that run on Spacecraft3/4 and Multistage2/MS2015 code, just a little bit of rewritting either...

    Updates Boeing's CST-100 Starliner

If Crew-9 becomes the makeshift "rescue" mission for the Starliner CFT crew, then Crew-9 could only launch two astronauts to the station (unless SpaceX and NASA restored Crew Dragon's original crew capacity of seven, which I don't see happening anytime soon)

    Skylab 1973 rebuild

AMSO meshes are encrypted beyond non-Apollo missions, but yeah Multistage2015 Saturns is a possible alternative, though needs to be ported for newer Orbiter versions first I've been personally longing for an AMSO-compatible Skylab as well, but I thought it was hardcoded for lunar missions only?

    Updates Boeing's CST-100 Starliner

The only problem with that solution though is the capsule is perfectly fine.... what's plaguing Starliner is the service module itself

    Updates Boeing's CST-100 Starliner

Mainstream media will always blow things out of proportion even if in reality it isn't. This is similar to a time when a certain media outlet declared the cosmonauts aboard Salyut 7 were stranded when a replacement Soyuz (T-10-A) suffered a major launch failure in 1983

    Updates Artemis

I think Artemis will survive whoever wins the next US elections, though I can't say about how much funding Congress will give NASA for it

Updates China Space Station l Updates, News & Discussion

Xichang launches all end up having spent boosters crashing nearby villages, hence the gradual decommisioning of that particular launch site in favor of expanding onto Wenchang over time

I've checked the meshes in Blender and found out that the mesh file for the hatch door doesn't load at all

News Changes to the SpaceX BFR rocket.

This was Yusaku Maezawa's exact original plan up until the first flight of Falcon Heavy back in 2018. He and one other person will ride a Crew Dragon on a circumlunar trajectory. Post-Tesla, he was most likely convinced to change his mind to ride on Starship instead when the Falcon Heavy isn't...
