The Vessels of 2001 and 2010 Update II
This update adjusts ISP, maximum thrust, and fuel capacity for the Discovery, derelict Discovery (Yellow Discovery), Discovery II, and Leonov to duplicate the flight profiles of these vessels as described in the books 2001: A Space Odyssey, 2010, and the movies they engendered. The scenarios have been edited to reflect mission specific fuel consumption. It resolves reaction control system (RCS) fuel consumption issues in the Discovery, Leonov, and derelict Discovery. It improves the RCS balance in translation mode and resolves the pitch and yaw induced when vertical or lateral translation is used in these ships. In addition, it resolves UMmu outer airlock activation issues in the derelict Discovery.
NOTE: This update will overwrite the scenarios contained in the 2001 - Discovery, 2001 - A Space Odyssey, and the 2010 - Leonov - Discovery folders. After installation, review the scenarios in these folders and delete any duplicatescenarios with a Date Modified earlier than 9/12/2015. Please backup (or rename) any scenarios you wish to preserve.
To install, unzip the Vessels of 2001 and 2010 Update II to the location of your Orbiter 100830 P1 folder. Be sure to preserve the directory structure of the package (for example, in WinZip this re-quires activating the âUse Folder Namesâ option).
