SkyLab Reentry
The Reentry of Skylab was actually handled as a Nasa mission. A team was assembled to safely deorbit the station by tumbling it at the appropriate moment, increasing drag and landing it into the South Atlantic. However, the drag models used were actually slightly out with the end result that the shuttle fell to earth on a sparsely inhabited section of southern West Australia.
This scenario in Nasa - The Forgotten Missions - starts 12 hours before the demise of Skylab and gives you a chance to try to rewrite history and see the challanges faced.
