IEMFD v0.2 Alpha 2007-12-28

IEMFD.JPG

This add-on displays an Internet Explorer control completely within the MFD window.  Users can browse the internet like normal from within Orbiter.  The only exception is that MFD do not have access to mouse input (clicks, movement, etc.) so you must select links and input fields by tabbing through page elements (SHIFT-> and SHIFT-<)  The selected element is highlighted by a red border.

This project was primarily taken on as a technical challenge.  I wanted to see if I could make it work.  The actual utility of using a web browser in a 300x300 window with no mouse is minimal; however, I hope that by providing this mildly entertaining MFD along with the source code and a documented technical approach will help others do interesting things as well.

This add-on may or may not work on your computer, and it may cause Orbiter to lock unexpectedly.  I haven’t tested this on any computer other than my own.
