Im seeing a bluff here! WEDNESDAY! January 6th 2010...

    Breaking more speeds

Well the faster you fly the more drag there is so mach 10 would have a very large drag at the altitude normal planes fly (about 10km). It just gets more and more difficult to fly fast low. Speed wouldn't make a man pass out, its the force acting on him to cause g-loc! Dan

    OHM British Airways Concorde BOAC

Mine had the no-mesh problem, but with the new .dll from Marco it worked on the new VC. Brilliant mod, did a Heathrow to KSC run in it and it really cruised nicely, one question though, why does the engine cut out at mach 2.14? Is it just to limit the speed? Really good work though thank you...

    calculating atmospheric surface density

I was doing some Kinematics work in Physics on this and managed to map accurate tropospheric air density on Earth. http://wahiduddin.net/calc/density_altitude.htm It gets rather hard as you have to factor in water, gas constants, and mol. masses! However if you have those then there is a...

    New Earth 1962 Canaveral Config

Great little trick here to get it all working! Really glad all i had to do was search on the forums and problems solved in 5 mins, thanks guys!

    Question How to Develop?

Hey, As all my exams have finished and i have some time on my hand i really fancy developing some of my own ships and vessels for Orbiter. Has anybody got any good websites/guides/pdf's so i can get started? Really want to do planetary rovers like the ones from AMSO! Thanks Dan

Flight Question What is the maximm theoretical size for a luncher?

Is the pogo ocillation the type that affected the central engine of the Apollo 13 Saturn V flight? I m aware that the movment of the middle engine was stretching the rocket by about 15cm significantly reducing the pump rate onto the J-1 engines. You could just use 1 'large' engine to counteract...

Flight Question What is the maximm theoretical size for a luncher?

Yes pretty much as long as you have a big enough engine to move the rocket. It gets slightly problematic when the thrust being produced is getting significant enough to actually move the Earth into a different orbit, but at that size/weight the top of the rocket is probably nearing space anyway!

So that's why the B-2 Bomber costs so much...

Hey thats just great news! Now when i see "ANY" scientific reasoning behind it we might all be a step closer to believing it all! Electo-anti gravity without any more long words just doesn't cut it for me ;)

    Question Apollo AMSO separation help

You should have the step by step missions for Apollo 11, 13, and 17 which give you an idea what to do, and the manual for AMSO should clear up any obvious queries. I learnt most of my spaceflight 'stuff' from AMSO, its great for just about everything when you have smashed the DG up enough!

    Question Apollo AMSO separation help

Instead of using the little thrusters on the ship to change your attidute, you use then to thrust your ship left/right, up/down, and back/forward. Press '/' key on your numpad to do it! Have you got IMFD?

    Question Any reentry AP?

Yes, you have to remeber that you are travelling 7400+ ms-1, o if you want to live you have to gently take off the speed. As 97% of the Mass of the Atmosphere is in the first 30km above the surface, you want to have lost most of your speed by then in the thinner upper atmosphere, then gently...

    Question Any reentry AP?

No to re-enter you want your perigee to be about 60km from the Earths surface, you then aerobrake gently as you come down. If you re-enter too drastically then the dynamic pressure is like forcing your ship through 'hard' air. The pressure rips your ship to pieces. To avoid that you gently brake...

    Question Apollo AMSO separation help

Its 'J' to seperate the CM from Saturn V, then you spin the CM around and use linear RCS to dock with LM! You have to use IMFD to give you ship the extra thrust to intersect with the moon (TLI - Trans lunar injection). If you havent got that then its hard to work out where your supposed to be...

General Question AutoFCS with Hi res KSC?

Yes sure thing, i dident change the Canaveral.cfg i dont think so i wont include it! Try it with a TAEM with Discovery and see if it lands square! KSC.cfg BASE-V2.0 Name = KSC - Kennedy Space Center Location = -80.672 +28.528 Size = 1000 MapObjectsToSphere = TRUE BEGIN_NAVBEACON VOR KSCX...
