It´s called Ad Astra, it´s a space-shooter Elite style, supposed to have about 110,000 star systems, procedural generated planets and stuff. I tried it, and I can say i was very surprised with it. The graphics and sound are a little annoying and it is still very limited but overall it makes a very fun game

Pollo ad astra is a very nice main pizza dish at Pizza Express here in the UK. I have it all the time. Not sure it would make a good space shooter, though.

If he is new to Orbiter, he will stay with Orbiter once he reaches ISS.

If the game is good, I would forgive it, instead of reporting it as advertising...

Kind of reminds me of the Battlecruiser 3000 series. (if anyone's looking for a straight up Elite clone (with textures) Oolite is pretty good).

Anyone know what kind of combat system this thing has? I kind of liked Elite's laser and missile system.

I'd assume that the physics system does not allow orbits and that one can 'park' just outside the atmosphere.

Universal Combat (third or fourth game in the series) has been released as a free download over at http://www.3000ad.com and its quite absorbing for a few hours. There are mission modes as well as a "free roam" mode. It's fun.
