If you live in Essex county MA, like me, you know what I'm talking about. It hit about 99 degrees F today, plus humidity:heat:. Fortunately, we just got another air conditioner for the computer room, so I can remain solid while typing this. But I've figured out what's really going on. That collision has slowly been decaying earth's orbit, while the sun's gravitational influence hase been pulling us in closer, untile THIS year, when we will colide with the sun's corona, vaporising the planet in about 6 months. We must develope a mission to save out planet (or at least a more powerful fan)! We will build a spacecraft to colonise Mars, reminants of the human race!:titanic:

I know the feeling. Had some heat indexes in the triple digits today. And almost none of the rooms in my school have good air conditioning. So, we got out two hours early.

What really annoyed me was apparently the in-school suspension room had really good AC. What the hell kind of punishment is that?! I suffer while screw-offs get to sit in an air conditioned room all day.

What is worse is that it is supposed to be worse tommorrow.

Even here in Ottawa its been boiling hot. Right now its 27C (at 7:47pm), and earlier today (and yesterday) it was well above 30. Tomorrow its supposes to go above 30 as well.

So much for my igloo! :P

It was 87F actually.
(edit) sure you're not confused with Essex County in New Jersey? Just checked and that was 99F today...

Vancouver is currently 10C with rain, but I'll be in New Mexico tomorrow: 32C :beach:

Here in central Massachusetts, my office is at the end of a long central air duct and the head loss is such that I get very little cool AC. Plus I have two quad core PCs on my desk running 24/7 on a flow simulation. Had a little trickle of sweat running off my brow the entire day just sitting at my desk.

Just be glad yall ain't in Georgia, this is nothing new to us down here. Up north (judging by weather channel temp maps) have this 100 degree weather for a while then it cools back to 85-90. Us in the South have to deal with 100+ for days on end with no relief.

I think we all pretty much just dismissed the sun part there.

what collisions?

:baaaa::orlyflag:

No heat wave here... just a normal summer, maybe a bit dry compared to better times.

I'm a central AC installer, so this is music to my ears.

Let me guess: You associate global warming with a positive feeling in your wallet? :beach:

We'll never make it to Mars in time. Our only chance is an exodus to Luna. Right as Earth gets consumed we can ignite the nukes on the Nazi base and hope we get some sort of Alphan trajectory.

Lemme give yall a little story on Atlanta's Hhumidity. A few years ago (2003 I think) my family and I left 85 degree Atlanta and did a driving cross-country trip around the west. One of the stops was Las Vegas (actually just outside, but close enough right?) The mercury was reading 114 fahrenheit, but to me, it felt just like our humidity-ridden 85 degrees back home! Humidity makes ALLLLLLLLL the difference.

Actually, with the price of gasoline going over 4 bucks a gallon, I'll be happy if my wallet doesn't float away.:titanic:

LOL, don't let me tell you my current gasoline price here (converted 9.23 USD/gallon). Burning the bucks for propulsion directly might get cheaper.
