Discussion Space Shuttle Vessel - Payload Development Thread

There you go. I'm pretty sure I have a diagram somewhere showing that the PAM keel trunnion is one PLID aft of the forward longeron trunnions. Plus, it certainly looks like that:
just a test mesh, but that makes everything happy:

Side note, it seems that once you get to bays 12 and 13, the keel latch is higher up then the previous bays

I don't know if one could build a PAM vessel. Where you had the PAM structure in the Payload Bay and the controls as a mesh inside the cockpit?
Maybe a control window to control the PAM,....

I was thinking that we could replicate the SSP like they do for R13L for the default Atlantis, but that SSP isnt really used for the main events regarding the PAM deploy. the GPCs and SCA do most of that.
From the document that Dave sent:

the SSP has the backups for deployment, but it doesn't have everything

Oh, Yes a SSP could be made. The hard part is telling the switches and talkback what/when to do things. I think to do a PAM?ASE vessel that based off of the mission could be done. Basically change the ASE texture to allow the different makers labels.
It looks like the SCA controls the sunshield

yeah and the mechanical sequence is started by the astros from the GPC keyboards, so we need that software as well. Im not sure if you can have external modules have a DPS display or if it has to be edited into the SSV source

I already mentioned this, but I have done some work for the PAMs, the displays and SSP panel, but that all depends on the v2.0 work still going on, so it has to wait.
Meanwhile, all that can be done (external to the project) is an independent vessel PAM cradle.
