DG&Atlantis&ISS (Upscaled) - Some AI scaled textures for three default vessels: DG, Atlantis, ISS

This add-on contains some AI scaled textures for three default vessels: DG, Atlantis, ISS.

I was inspired by @supersonic71 add-on AI up-scaled 2048x2048 textures and normal maps for Delta Glider.

The textures has pretty big resolution that can be reduced if necessary. The size of archive is ~229MB.

Hmm.... how does "AI" know what details the DG has, in order to generate a (more detailed) texture?
Rant: maybe I'm not as smart as I think I am, but up-scaling (with or without AI), just results in larger pixels, and/or made-up pixels.... the information just isn't there, and no amount of algorithms and word-calculators will change that.

It creates additional pixels and makes image smoother and clearer, although not always. I can't explain how it works, but you could see and compare the original and these upscaled textures each other. By the way, it doesn't recognize text on textures well, so I didn't use it for 3D cockpit textures.

It doesn't. It just tries to interpret what it sees, but doesn't always understand it. And when it doesn't understand it, it doesn't have the logic to make something that fit the theme or the idea, because it doesn't know what these are.

That's why AI upscale work very well for some textures (ex: planet textures), but terrible for ship textures, because it won't be able to understand the low res details. It's also why hand drawn textures will always be a better option than AI upscale. Maybe I should try out my hand at that one day. I already tried in the past, but lost the template I was making and lost interest.

A) it never understands, because AI is just a media- and business-glorified calculator.
B) but even if somehow it did understand, how would it know that the DG has a bolt here, or a scratch there? All the detail that shows up in the up-scaling is made-up, because all the information about how the DG looks is contained in the original texture, and it is what it is.

Again I'm sorry, I don't want to derail the thread, but up-scaling is a pet peeve of mine, and I just don't like to see the up-scaling of old photos and film being painted as a positive thing, and now it's even "AI-powered"...

These are fantastic! I still use Orbiter 2010 because I have too many hours into UMMU and UCGO to give them up. These textures breathe new life into my build. Thank you.
