When you become an astronaut, and still play orbiter
IS anyone going to model a debris cloud? I'd really appreciate the prospect of colliding with a bolt at 15km/s and exploding. 'Cause that's how addicted to Orbiter I am. :shifty:...when the silly joke thread is not enough to express how addicted you are, so you come back to this thread...
...when you say Xena and Gabrielle and they do not bring the picture of sexy TV characters to your mind, but the picture of an alien place to visit.
...when you thought space was empty before knowing it was filled with debris, and you wonder if anyone is going to add all the existing sats and debris to Orbiter some day.
...when you develop your computer science skills as you do stuff for orbinauts.

Orbiter is way off people's experience. It is just like mining could be for most of us.and none of my friends cared at all. I really wish they could get into Orbiter.

...In the end, money is a social construct, instead, Orbiter is real...
Love it!!!
I caught my daughter (learning to drive) making the "Boom! click...click...click...click" noises as she finally successfully backed into a parking space. I laughed so hard I couldn't breathe for a few minutes.

Ok today after my computer programing class (I'm learning C++) where the teacher was talking about graphics, I went up to him and asked him if he ever heard of Orbiter. I showed him Orbiter's web site and he said he would look at it and that it looked interesting. So when I was out side the class room waiting for the car pool I see, because the projector is still on projecting whatever he is doing on a big screen, he is still looking at the site, then he starts an email with sentences like this: Check out this program I found for teaching physics. Or: It could be used to teach C++.
I tried not to look but it was so funny. Not 3 minutes after I showed him Orbiter was he emailing the physics teacher about Orbiter.
ROFLWhen...
No matter what 3D model you find for a totally separate project, you just have to whip up a quick and nasty Spacecraft3 to see how it would look in orbit.
