So after I am planning on flying Apollo 15, and I wondered if there was a way to get some of the surface hardware in NASSP.
Stuff like:
  • American Flag
  • ALSEP
  • LRV
  • Solar wind experiment
  • The LR[imath]^3[/imath]
  • Any other major hardware used on the surface for Apollo J missions
Thanks in advance!

I'm flying the Apollo k then L missions thanks to gattis he has produced the new Apollo hardsuits with a new rover and the Alsep. I land the AMSO LM then use scn ed to deploy all this stuff. He has toyed with the idea of putting the pilots in the LM as well

This is a NASSP thread not AMSO

You can EVA 2 crew, deploy the flag and rover but that's all at this point.

Well, those are the important ones!

How to deploy the flag and rover?
Can the crew climb aboard the rover, if so, how?

Side question, how do I blow the SIM door since panel 230 isn't there?
Also, I assume no subsatellite yet?

F deploys the flag and V is the rover, and yeah you can "board" it with crew and drive with translation controls.

The J mission SIM bay jettison panels are there (Panel 181 is in the LEB, go ctrl-right of the optics panel) and do function to blow the SIM bay door. But no subsatellite yet :(

Unrelated, but I didn't want to start a new thread...

I'm up to LM activation, and the steerable S-Band antenna won't slew.
I double checked all the comm CBs and switches. Any ideas? Scenario attached.

The inverter switch is in off, the steerable antenna needs AC power.

Just out of curiosity, where in the activation checklist is that step?
I obviously missed that, and want to make sure I didn't miss something else.

Assuming you are flying Apollo 15? ACT 2-2 through 2-4. I have attached 2-3 and 2-4 where the AC power breakers and inverter breakers are closed and the inverter is turned on.

But in all LM activations is in the EPS ACTIVATION procedures which usually is early in the procedure.

Yep, Apollo 15.
Well, that would do it; I looked back at the activation checklist and pages ACT 2-3 to ACT 2-5 are missing.
I'm using the one from AFJ, where is the one you show above from? My copy is missing some other pages later on as well; good thing I know to check for that now!

I can select it and drive, I was wanting to get the crew aboard.
What I did for EVA-1 is drive the rover to wherever it needed to go, then use scenario editor to reposition the crew to the rover's location.

Oh I dont know if you can board crew to be honest (shows how often I play with surface stuff when I am working on procedures/fixes)

I took a look at the code, and I couldn't see anything that would allow the crew to board the rover.

On a side note, how would you guys feel about me developing an expansion pack for NASSP surface stuff?
I'm thinking of something that would just install on top of an existing NASSP install and provide more immersion for surface ops.
No changes to code or anything else would be needed on the NASSP side, it would simply replace the LEVA and LRV modules.

Sure, with a few small changes/additions to the NASSP LM code, I could do a lot more like customized experiences based on mission and such.
Can't say how much time I'll have to work on it, but I'd love to take a shot at it.
So should I just create a new branch of my NASSP github fork and start working?

We all just do this in our free time. But yeah fork the main repo and you can make changes in there and PR them.
