To all the people involved... Keep up the good work!
To all the admirers of the spaceflight: let's not not forget the day which opened the gate to the future. Bottoms up, gents!

By the way, in town like Korolev, Star City, Monino near Moscow, the future feels more imminent than anywhere else. See it yourself:

Congratulations to everyone on the 47th anniversary of manned spaceflight and the 27th anniversary of the first Space Shuttle launch.

Excellent pictures SiberianTiger.:)

And a good Yuri's night to all. 47 years now.

Good job Tiger, happy cosmonuats day. Also i have a question, in Russia to people like really celebrate it like they would of used to? cos most people dont care about space exporation, none of my friends know about most of the stuff i know.

I didn't go to any celebrations, but I did at least do something. I watched the ISS pass over tonight. I didn't think -1 magnitude would be so bright. ;) Even watching it disappear from the middle of the sky, moving behind the Earth's shadow, was cool.

Thanks, Ryan. Yes, it is really a prominent day in Russia. Not like New Year, Easter, Women's Day or the V-Day, but for most people definitely worthy of remembering the event and shotting a glass. It's usually lots of space coverage and movies on TV this day.
