Question Orion Mod

Is there a good Orion mod for Orbiter 2010? I searched the hangar but I couldn't find a good one that is the current Orion or is updated for 2010. I want to use this spacecraft as a payload for [ame="http://www.orbithangar.com/searchid.php?ID=5556"]this mod[/ame] because that's going to launch this December and I would love to simulate the mission.

Unfortunately the only one simulating the most recent version of orion is the one you were reffering to: [ame="http://www.orbithangar.com/searchid.php?ID=4437"]CEV-Orion[/ame]
It's an excellent addon and works with Orbiter 2010 and Directx9, however there are issues with UMMU as I could not get it to work.

AFAIK it isn't compatible with Orbiter 2010 P1. A very good add-on though.

Both the CEV and Altair work perfectly in Orbiter 2010 P1. I am not quite sure about the launch vehicles.

The launchers aren't working indeed. The spacecrafts can be launched on different launchers (I used [ame="http://www.orbithangar.com/searchid.php?ID=4437"]CEV-Orion[/ame] and [ame="http://www.orbithangar.com/searchid.php?ID=4584"]Ares V v1.5[/ame]).

The Ares V has a Altair lunar lander so I suggest to install that one first and the [ame="http://www.orbithangar.com/searchid.php?ID=1972"]ESAS CEV[/ame] later.

I was just about to comment that Don's Orion is by far the best one. Only one that I know for sure works with Orbiter 2010.

Thanks I tried it out and its just what I was looking for. I have one problem though. I can't figure out how to attach the whole service module and capsule on it because the Delta 4 Heavy payload feature only allows one config and one mesh. Is there any way to attach it using any scenario config edits?

Hi, if you are using the CEV-Orion-0i version from Orbithangar, there is a mesh included specifically designed for launchers. It is called
CEV-Orion-launch.msh
and consists of the capsule and service module with solar panels folded in launch configuration.
I am not sure about the usability of the payload fairings. Those Ares1_CEVadapters probably will not fit to a Delta IV.
