Gaming Spaceway: 2014

Just what is the point?
Would someone really try to visit all of approximately 24733040147310453406050252101964719003513134910121 18399140630560928972251065318671703164010612430449 89597671426016139339351365034306751209967546155101 893167916606772148699136 planets in Spaceway, just because a site gives points for that?

Looking at how fanatic kids seem to be about score lists nowadays... yes, that actually sounds plausible. I doubt that spaceway would gather a large enough fan-base to really make it count, and I generally don't like this skinnerbox approach to game design, but Spaceway would provide ample opportunity for achievements...

Well, I play World of Tanks everyday because for each tank there's a 2x bonus for the first victory. Since the average win ratio is 50%, that bonus makes you want to play once more. Actually it make you play that third game (0.5 chance X 3 games =1.5 ~1 win for sure) that otherwise you wouldn't.

I'm not a gaming person, and far from a kid, but that sort of thing has universal appeal.

You should look to Microsoft Flight Sim. They have missions and a check mark once you've completed each. Quite simple, with a small image. Does have an instant appeal.

You can use this for basic gameplay stuff like landing. And with those objectives you start to have the gaming element.
Also you can use it as a kind of "passport stamp" for the places visited. More mature than score and with actual meaning.

Forgot to post this earlier. The version-before-last worked fine, but when I installed the most recent version I got this:

Some sort of issue with the lighting I think, although maybe it could be a texturing problem. It affects the Rapier too, hence procedural meshes are not immune.

Define "the most recent version".
It looks like a bug from 140114, that was quite well-fixed since 140119.

Does this happen all the time, or at specific conditions?
How to reproduce?
If all the time, what are your settings (pack and send options directory)?

Whatever most recent raw version of spaceway that is currently available on your site.

Spaceway 140119-2 Windows 32bit to be specific

All the time I believe. To reproduce, just try the aforementioned spaceway version, although I doubt you will find it now if not during testing.

I will try to send you the settings when I can, but theyre Windows/orbiter controls (obviously you say ;)) and the performance settings are at good laptop.

Can you describe exactly what the issue is for me, so I can better work the problem?

So, it basically does not work ever, and you "Forgot to post this earlier"? :)

The similar problem i had is when you leave a solar system, then come back, the light won't re-initialize, and vessels and planets will be black.

Naturally, i can't reproduce the issue here.
Are the planets also black, from high enough altitude (keep zooming out until it either blacks out as well or becomes too small)?
Are there any conditions when lights work fine?
Is it vessel specific?
Does it fix itself if you turn off shaders (F11-u)?
Do additional lights work (1, engine lights, etc)?

Most importantly, do anyone else encounter the same problem?

Pretty much :)

-gotta check that
-not sure yet
-no, it affects SC3 vessels, your native ones, everything.
-Will check that
-Maybe. I notuced a handful of areas on the Enterprise looked right, so maybe mesh groups with luminous materials aren't affected by it.
