Hello,

I was browsing Orbithangar and I found very little stuff about the legacy DeltaGlider. The existing textures are somehow outdated in terms of resolution.

I was wondering if someone could make hi-res texture for the old workhorse of Orbiter ? Some suggestions (in my order of preference) :

- NASA skin (shuttle-like)
- Roscosmos skin (Buran-like but with russian federation insigns)
- ESA skin
- Private companies skins (existing or fictionnal...)
- Improved default skins (Red & Blue)

Note that I could help with normal and specular maps.

Thank you very much :tiphat:

One of your fellow Frenchmen has helped somewhat in this area

Its a nice piece of work, albeit with a few odd artifacts here and there (check the portholes)

Otherwise I havent seen much, except for these

I would imagine those DG repaints are good, but hard to use without a skin system built into the stock DG.

This one is actually in a lower resolution (512x512) than the stock Delta Glider (1024x1024).

But the stock Delta Glider has built-in skin system. In the scenario file:
Code:
SKIN <skin_name>

I started making a 4096x4096 top and bottom exterior textures when D3D9Client added support for normal maps, to update the normal maps I've generated from the standard DG textures with better version, but I only completed materials for the golden foil and engine bells (already with normal/height maps, because I've made them with Filter Forge), and I've drawn some lines on wings, which would be used for the height maps, too, but I wasn't satisfied with any of the material for the wings I've got from the procedural texture generation, so I stopped making it about a week after I started. I still have the sources for it, so maybe I'll continue it when I feel it's time. :P

I think he tried to make it so that it would look more natural, but I'm not sure. There was a good reason for creating lower res textures, but Id have to hunt down the post he made about it to find out.

 My apologies.

I would love that . Even if the DG is wildly over-powered and too easy to fly, it always has a special place in the heart of every Orbinaut.
