I am going to attach, not dock the XR2 to another ship using Universal cargo deck, but I would like to know what the settings would be in the XR2 for a long trip, almost like the equivalent to safe mode for the DGIV.Thanks

I assume the vessel will have no crew (otherwise you would run into oxygen problems as you can't use external O2 if you are not docked).

Basically you should close all doors and make sure the APU is off. If you remove the crew via EVA you will have to close the nose cone via scenario editor or change the xr-2 config so ship can be operated without crew.

Or just leave it open.

Hi,gentleman, thanks for the advice,I can't find in the XR2 config the option to run the ship without a crew present, and won't the tempature still overheat the XR2 on the long trip?Is there a way to set a stable tempature?also.

Ah,I never thought of that, thanks.I guess I am so use to docking the XR2 with the external power on.

I may have confused that setting with the DGIV. However, you can use the scneario editor and set the doors (nosecone and airlocks) there.

No APU needed for that (but you have no animations either)

That's interesting because I just tried the same thing to be sure... Worked for me. (Tried with bay doors)

Just to avoid confusion: The button to operate the doors within the scnenario editor is called "Animations". However, when using those you won't have visual animations when opening or closing doors.

OK some more weird stuff, now after attaching the XR2, with no crew present to the Arrow later in orbit when I unattach, and dock, the gear, and hovers are always damaged, and after going in the scenario, and fixing those problems, when I undock with crew present, and procede to dock up again the XR2 drifts downward, and I have to fight the direction to try,and dock. On top of that when I get within docking distance it tells me that the gears not down, and it crashes.Anyway to fix these problems? Thanks

Hm, not sure what happens here. I never transferred an XR-2 in an attached but non-docked state. From what you describe it looks like some severe problem though. Possibly a conflict with an add-on?
