It will be a lighter version of the Jumbo Tanker.
Just sayin', the author of the Jumbo Tanker also has a lighter version, fittable in a Shuttle orbiter's PLB: [ame="http://www.orbithangar.com/searchid.php?ID=2650"]simple tank payload 2.5[/ame]

I was also looking at this -> [ame="http://orbithangar.com/searchid.php?ID=241"]Abora_A and Selene_B version 2.0[/ame]

which features a rather large fuel tank module.

For a 20 t payload, the Quasar 471 upper stage has about 6.3 km dV. I tried playing around with TransX, and with the May 13, 2018 window, I got a 6.5 km dV. I don't know how to reduce that.

That is for Orbiter 2003. It doesn't work on 2010.

Thats why we have trajectory people and a few other tricks for when we get to Mars.

And the fuel module works absolutely perfectly here.

I tried the fuel module, and it doesn't work for some reason. Even if the spacecraft.dll is installed. All I get was either the spacecraft mesh not appearing at all, or Orbiter crashing.

Then you've missed something. If you want to start a seperate thread about it then go for it otherwise I'm going to keep this thread on track with OFMM discussions. Suffice to say that *IF* the Selene tank is picked to be sent to Mars (and we are not there yet) any required config file changes will be posted with the mission.

Sorry for butting into this all of a sudden, I'm just wondering what is final. Is Cosmos the vehicle of choice? Do you need a DSV with UMmu?

I would like the Cosmos as I think the ship is rather cute and has a decent amount of dV to get to Mars and act as a fuel tank tanker (Think orbital aircraft carrier) but the decision was to go with the James Cook which I've not looked at in all that much depth.

UMMU will be fine as I'll mandate [ame="http://orbithangar.com/searchid.php?ID=3509"]UMMUFA v.2.0[/ame] to be used.

Cute it is! Cosmos is underappreciated, for sure. :)

[shamelessplug]I have a JamesCook DLL project going on at the moment; native UMmu support is on the menu for that. It's around 30% done at the moment, UMmu and HUD are on the way.[/shamelessplug] :shifty:

(I know I haven't been online in a while, but anyway-)

Due to some real life stuff, I may not be able to fly the missions OFMM-P2 and OFMM-3. I will be inactive for approximately 2 weeks. Although, if it takes a long time to fly the missions, I may be able to fly OFMM-3. Otherwise, I will not be able to back up Scruce and Woo might have to fly for me. Just letting you all know and best of luck. :tiphat:

EDIT: I am now back. I will still be able to fly OFMM-P2 and OFMM-3.

After some discussions on IRC I've been re-thinking my approach to OFMM. It seems that many are keen to see it continue yet few have time to help build the sort of mid-scale interactive project I was thinking of when I kicked this off.

So, I'm thinking of changing the OFMM Mars plan a little to make things more streamlined and remove a lot of the discussion around building the plan as we go along to more of a 'here is the next scenario, here are the mission goals, go fly it' approach.

This will enable me to deliver the scenarios quicker for people to fly. The Mars surface ops will be based around ISA plans.

thoughts?
