On the top of the world, speechless:

(P.S. Are you aware that png is far from the most slim format, and posting multi-mb images on the net is not exactly nice?)

There was a rule until Nov. 12th that images can't have dimensions larger than 800x600 pixels, but I think it was removed because nobody respected it.

Yeahhhhhh, I did have the size rule to combat that, but as Orb pointed out, getting a nice pic to fit a certain size can be tricky.

I could have said use JPEGs, but I don't like the artefacts you get sometimes, and specifying compression ratios/qualities would have made it a bit complicated... I did say "if you can", so if you feel you'd get better results with other formats, feel free! :tiphat:

P.P.S.: You can always be nicer by using an Optimizer for PNGs eg. OptiPNG
It will not remove any of the information, so no additional compression artifacts like JPG would introduce.

True, but my image was multi-mb after png optimizer.
That's what you'll get when you post such beautiful pictures with lots of details
Great to hear that I'm not the only one that tries to be bandwidth-friendly.

My note was more a general tip for anyone that might not know that there is a possibility to do that.
You are of course correct in saying that PNG for the most applications is unneccesary bigger than e.g. JPG.
Despite the artifacts, which are tolerable in most cases, JPG is a more bandwith friendly format. Especially on upload I might add.

So, no critics just notes (2 cents?!?)

Ugh, I just noticed the line in the texture, anyway.

This is my entry "I think my spaceship knows just where to go..."

XR2 leaving the atmosphere in an almost vertical trajectory (mission ended in failure shortly after the pic was taken) with very low FOV and D3D9 client (ENB series and bump maps enabled but you can't really tell.)

That's very nicely framed. Would have been even better if you'd have had antialiasing on to get rid of the jaggies...

All these worlds are yours...

The creators of the monoliths finally allowed mankind to meet the Europans. Commander Bowman Junior looks into a Europan valley with Lucifer in the background.
Callisto and Io are above it, Ganymede, as a faint point of light is below it.
Also visible is the Arrow spacecraft and one of the most important objects in the universe...
