Sorry, but I have no idea about whether the picture is a project of some kind or a joke, somebody around here should know...

We are very aware of that. (It's a space forum, you know.) The thread questions the history of the photograph. Whether it was a joke, or staged for a photography project.

I assume that someone got the photo of Laika from somewhere, then photoshopped/cut it out and made a 'lost dog' photo like you get stuck up on telegraph poles as a bit of a joke. Is this photograph significant in any way? I'm not sure why you're after the history of it.
