Why do you love Orbiter?

1) It's free.
2) It's educational - I learned more about orbital mechanics in a week of playing with Orbiter than I did in three years of an astrophysics degree.

I was torn at first. I fell in love with the software immediately but was amazed that there wasn't a port for Linux. Actually discouraged is more like it. But linux wasn't what it is today when Dr. S started working on Orbiter. And with windows on almost every computer that's manufactured... I'm having a lot of fun running it on wine and it will only be a matter of time before its glitch free with an installer, maybe even a custom Orbiter wine prefix manager like q4wine or vineyard.

It's an open ended challenge. Now I am attempting to set up a sling off Jupiter to Charliko, a Centaur with a high inclination and eccentricity, and it is quite challenging.
