Are you also annoyed by standard announcements? I'm at the University Library at the Moment, and every day it is like this:

It is 20 Minutes to 6. The checkout desk closes at 6 pm. If you want to borrow books, please come to the desk at the ground floor until 5 minutes to 6.

Its now 5:46, and as I know "them", there will be an alike message at 5:50. At least the announcer is a woman. Sometimes there is a man sitting there and then it sounds like this:

It...is...20 Minutes...to 6...The checkout...

He sounds as he is almost falling asleep, which is quite annoying. When the people only have to make two announcements during their working day, why can't they try to sound more active when doing that?

EDIT: Bingo, there it was, exactly at 10 to 6.
