I've already played orbiter before and I really like it, just downloaded the 2010 version along with the patch and high res textures for earth. My problem is when I want to download stuff from dansteph all I get is an error page saying

"This webpage has a redirect loop.

The webpage at http://orbiter.dansteph.com/index.php has resulted in too many redirects. Clearing your cookies for this site or allowing third-party cookies may fix the problem. If not, it is possibly a server configuration issue and not a problem with your computer."

I've already tried doing what it says and I still can't download the files or access his site. I already have DGIV and Sound 3.5 installer from my orbiter 2006-P1 but not the installer for UMMU 1.5.

Oh yeah, I already searched for this topic and all I got was this "http://orbiter-forum.com/showthread.php?t=15038"

I'm really a fan of orbiter and the Delta Glider and I really need help with this one.

What browser are you using? That sounds like firefox.

I know it may not be your preferred browser, but try downloading the files with Internet Explorer. You can navigate to the page in your favourite browser and then simply copy the link resulting in your redirect loop into IE to grab the files.

No problems with those downloads and Firefox here. And I'm sure that Klikstart is using Chrome 8.0.55.

Fair point, I forgot I could grab user agents. :P

However the usual fallback to such issues for me is to try a different browser, which is the crux of my point. :)

Yeah I was using Chrome but I still get the same thing with Firefox. In IE it keeps loading forever.

Those pages load fine for me in Chrome's current dev build. I would therefore assume it's a problem between you and the server, rather than an issue with either end.

I'm not sure, but I think Dan's license for UMMU, DGIV-2 and OrbiterSound prevents me from offering a mirror for those files, as well. You could try downloading through a proxy located in a different country, but speeds will vary through that kind of connection.

Indeed, from the UMMu license;

It is forbidden to distribute this addons without my agreement,
I preffer to keep one central download point so users are sure
they have the latest version.

How exactly do I do that?

And 1 more thing, does vcredist 2005 work with XP cause it simply doesn't install in mine.

First you'd need to locate a proxy (Google is your friend there) which gives you good speeds, and then configure the browser to connect to that proxy and instruct it to navigate to the download page and fetch the file. What you're doing is adding in a middleman (middlemachine? :P), so the connection will be slower, but it may bypass your connectivity issue.

In chrome, you can configure proxy settings from the "Options" page, "Under the hood" tab, in the "Network" section, there is a button labelled "Configure Proxy Settings", in which you will specify the details of the proxy server you have found with a google search.

It should be noted that this use of proxy servers is perfectly legal as far as I know, but you should not attempt to use them for other purposes as it may violate certain legislation which may be country-specific. I would advise you to look into your country's law regarding the use of proxy servers before proceeding to make sure your actions remain above-board.

It works fine with XP. Did you try to install 32-bit version?

Thanks for the help:thumbup:. Currently downloading(slowly but better than nothing).

And is I'm still searching for the 32-bit version of vcredist. Nevermind, I'll just run this on the other computer that already has vcredist. Thanks again for the help.
