Hi there...first I have to say thanks to Martin Schweiger for giving me the opportunity to go to the places i've only dreamed of!

ok, now to my question.
I'm trying to fly the tutorial 'DG to Moon' based on the instructions given during the replay, which I copied down.

When I get to the part where I have to plan my TLI using the HTO function, I have trouble entering the correct Delta V using the 'DV+/DV-' buttons.

I'm sposed to enter 3.121km/s, but when I try to enter it I can only change the readout as a whole number.
Is there something I'm missing which would allow me to enter the numbers as decimals?

The buttons have the precision necessary to input a value of 3.121 Km/s. Hold down the DV+ button until the reading goes past 3.00K and then fine-tune. It takes a little while to get the number up that high.

The "3" would refer to 3 m/s of dV. ;)

Keep adding DV+ when you get over 1 km/s it will start looking like 1.xxxkm/s
Add dv+ until you get 3.121 km/s

so your saying its the position of the mouse over the 'DV+/-' buttons which dictate the rate of change. ok, thanks!

No. It's that when you're clicking dv+ you're adding 1 m/s. You want to add 3121 m/s (which is also 3.121 km/s) of DV. Orbiter switches to 1.xxx km/s when you've added over 1000 m/s.

The metric system can be tricky sometimes :P

AAAHHHH! darn metric system and it's logic! lol.
thanks a bunch, it is clear to me now!

I hadn't used Transfer in a long time since I mostly use TransX, but went back to make the following youtube video for the Earth to Moon trip with "Transfer MFD".
Hope it's helpful.
cheers,
rob

You sir, are my current hero, as you have answered several of my unasked questions with that video...
