Problem Earth night lights not working

I searched the forums and couldn't find any relevant answers. I have the Orbiter Beta 091124 - SRC 2.2. I also have Earth lvl 10 textures. I downloaded the Earth high-res night lights 2.0 and the instructions say this:

First, you must edit your EARTH.CFG file (or any Earth CFG files
you want these textures to work on) and find the lines:
MinNighttexResolution = 1 ; lowest night lighting level
MaxNighttexResolution = 8 ; highest night lighting level
If these are set this way, then you can leave alone. If not,
change the MaxNighttexResolution to 8 (as shown above) to enable
the level 8 texturing. That’s all there is too it.

I don't see those lines. Now my default earth lights aren't even working. I checked the visual parameters and it is on. Is there any way I can get it to work?
 
If you are talking about the Earth_Nightlights_ver 2.0 made by BigJimW ( in 2005 ) that one can download on Orbithangar i think that there is no possibility to make it work on the actual Orbiter RC ( Beta ) and ( but i do not exactly remember ) on the 2006 release. Landmask and nightlights have been, are, now, in a same .tex file. It was not the case before.
 
Thanks for the reply fort. Guess I'll have to wait for Orbiter 2010 or an updated addon.
 
You could also download Earth level 11 + level 14 Florida textures, which have its own hi-res night city lights included.

A sample from above Florida (ambient light level changed to 63 to show contours of land):
 
Thank you so much Orb, the textures look great close to the surface. However, I am having another problem with the texture. I can see blocks of different tiles, like its using both the lvl 10 and 11 textures.



Did I do something wrong or miss a step?

Most probably original level 8 textures were overwritten by counterpart from Earth lvl 10 textures, and you see level 8 Earth textures from that installed add-on, below the new levels 9-14.

You need to overwrite Earth.tex, Earth_lmask.tex and Earth_lmask.bin (which are for levels 1-8) in Textures by the originals from the Orbiter beta zip archive.

If those files are original and weren't overwritten by add-on, then you only need to delete Earth.tex, Earth_lmask.bin and Earth_lmask.tex from Textures2 folder.
