This is an external application intended to work as a viewer, but it also have some tools to tweak Orbiter meshes. Among the key features you have:

-You can locate thrusters, grapple and attachment points, docking ports and landing points with pinpoint accuracy.
-You can highlight groups to locate points of interest in them.
-You can locate vertices and their precise coordinates.
-Crashes to desktop during mesh loading are minimal when compared to other viewers. Most of meshes should load with no problem. You can see meshes than can´t be seen with some other viewers.
-Easy to use user interfase (I hope).
-Enhanced colors for better visibility.
-Wireframe display only.
-No 3D acceleration hardware required.
-Attachment points from vessel CFG files can be displayed.
-Capable of displaying texture UV templates.
-Tools to edit and tweak your mesh and perform operations that otherwise would take huge amounts of time, including scale, translate, rotation, generate normals, optimize mesh, merge and swap groups.
-Capable of exporting meshes to AN8 (Anim8or) format and Wavefront OBJ format.
-Built in calculator to find distances, normalization and ROT vector calculations for attachment points.
-Capable of editing mesh data, including group data, triangle data, vertex data and materials.
-Individual or selected groups can be saved as TXT file.
-Supports meshes produced with 3DS2MSH, MshMaker and AN8 to MSH anim8or script.
-You may work on full screen.

WARNING!! If you overwrite an older version of Mesh Wizard, you must delete the file CONFIG.TXT for this version can't use CONFIG.TXT of older versions.

Installation: Unzip the contents to a directory you want, preserving directory structure, and read the installation notes in the manual.

Please, if you have any problem, read the troubleshooting included in the manual before reporting bugs.

Except for eventual bug fixes, I don´t expect to add any new features to it anytime soon. So basically you may consider it as a final version.

Use this application under your own risk. There is no support or guarantee associated to this application.

Last update: Capable of exporting to OBJ format, full screen capable now.

I've been using an earlier version of this utility and didn't realize what I was missing out on. This is an absolute must-have for addon developers. Well done!

Pros: Easy to use
Cons: None
Review:
A great little mesh viewing tool with some mesh manipulating and converting capabilities. I have only just started playing with meshes, and I think that as I become more knowledgeable I will be able to appreciate the available functions more. I recommend Meshviewer to anybody like me who is starting out in their interest in development. Combine this program with a few others and some Orbiter development tutorials and you're on your way. Well done AR81, and thanks for all the good work you have done with this program and also your previous addons and tutorials.

Have you tried searching for and downloading MSVBVM50.dll? Put it in the same directory as mesh wizard.

problem with not loading mesh

Hey guys,

Did anyone had this problem, I load a mesh and then the application stops and doesn't respond anymore. I tried it with several msh files on different versions of orbiter but the same result.

Change your comma "," symbol to a dot "." (Control panel)
If you still have the same problem, try right-clicking on the application, and "run as administrator".

Problem

First, when I tried to run Mesh Wizard, I got the MSVBVM50 error, but downloaded it from the internet. Now, when I try to run it, it says that COMCTL32.OCX is not registered properly and is either invalid or missing. I downloaded the file from the internet and replaced the old file, but it still says the same thing. What should I do? :hmm:

Register it.

Start -> run -> cmd -> [Enter]
regsvr32 COMCTL32.OCX

should work after that.

It says it the module failed to load.

A question: Is regsvr32 saying that module failed to load, or the Mesh Wizard, after a successful registering of the COMCTL32.OCX?

Edit:
Ah. After you edited the post I think it's the regsvr32.
Try to do this, while you're still in cmd prompt, if you use 32-bit version of Windows:
Code:
cd C:\Windows\System32
regsvr32 COMCTL32.OCX

Or do this, if you have 64-bit Windows:
Code:
cd C:\Windows\SysWoW64
regsvr32 COMCTL32.OCX

Look above.
