This is the first 3D Sun that you can found for Orbiter. you will find two new halo textures with it. (a white one and a yellow one wich is in the screenshot)

It does not require any add-ons, if you have already downloaded a Sun texture, it will not probably work.

Read the ReadmeImportant file, you have to add the star in your Sol.cfg file. (to avoid some bugs with anyother download planets)

Now for Orbiter 2010 P1 !

Could something like this be included in the next version of Orbiter?

Great work !! is the same size of the default sun ?

Pros: superbe impression !

I haven't installed this yet, but I'm wondering if anyone's tried to get close to it, and if so, how close?

Testing on Orbiter 2010, adding "Planet9 = Su" to the Sol.cfg file seems to cause troubles with UMMU 2.0 astronauts walking on planets. No idea why this would be.

It does not works on orbiter 2010. But i have already already pointed out the problem, i just have to publish a new one.

I'm haveing the same problem with the 3D stars in all my solar systems but can't find the problem.

That's because of the 0 semi major axis. Just push the star a bit far away and it will work.

Even by putting the semi major axis at 0.1 by example, it will not be perfect cause the star will twinkle. to repair that you can put an alpha hole at the center of the 2d texture, to see only the star without something behind.

Actually, it's Orbite'rs way of saying, " Game Over, you've melted."

You could always try going after sundown. :)

was just strange when i tried to set up orbit around the sun it started acting weird warped my orbit and sucked me in. The orbiter crashed.

Tried it at sundown, still crashed just wasn't as bright. ;)
