Project IMFD full manual

For a basic Moon - Mars via Earth trip, open Target Intercept. In order, change Ref to Sun, src to Earth, and TGT to Mars. Set up the transfer the same as you would if leaving from Earth. Once you have that, open Slingshot, and set reference to Earth. Course should already be selected so there shouldn't be much else to do here except match the PeT to the PeT shown in Slingshot. Then open Orbit Eject and change Higher Orbit to Slingshot. I think you know how to go from there.
I'm trying this on my own while I wait for the manual, but I'm missing something basic - I can't get the slingshot program to give me a BV or a PeT - do I need to do an orbit eject from the moon first?

It's kind of more complicated than what Tommy said--he just gave a very brief overview. But yes, you need to orbit eject and leave the moon's SOI before you can use dV from slingshot. Don't worry, the manual will be released in a few weeks--probably the week of August 3rd.

Uh oh, someone is about to learn why Martin NEVER issues previews, promises, or release dates. Come August 3rd no one will remember that qualifying "probably." ;)

:hmm: Hmmm, there should be a "impatient tapping foot" emoticon. . . . . . . .

LOL, I probably shouldn't have said that ;) but seriously I just have to make 3 more playbacks (Moon to Mars, Earth to Mars, and Earth to Jupiter to Saturn), then do a final edit (I have done several preliminary edits) and then I'll release it. I would have it much sooner, but I'm working at a band camp starting tomorrow, and I'm not getting back until Friday, then I've got the weekend off, but then I'm working Monday-Wednesday for another band camp.

And I said week of August third, which technically makes up to August 8 acceptable

I'm one of many anxiously awaiting your release. :)

Let me know if you need a proofreader. :hmm:

Exactly as above, I anticipate this manual eagerly. IMFD strikes me as a very powerful and useful set of tools... if only I could get my head around them.

I did once manage to get to Mars, but I forget how I did it and it involved some serious course corrections en route. I know almost nothing about IMFD, but if I can assist in any way, I would be more than willing to.

It's been out for about a week now.
