Hi there, I'm new to these forums and to Orbiter, but I have a dilemma to solve. I and a group of friends is starting a summer camp for older kids (ages 12 - 16) along the lines of space camp, only its a day camp instead of a sleep away camp.
One of the things we want is a realistic shuttle simulator. By realistic, I mean down to an actual cockpit with manual controls, joysticks, etc. We of course need a software program to run the simulation on, and Orbiter seems like a really good fit. However, I'm having some trouble understanding how we can integrate this software into that kind of workspace?
Ultimately, all of the manual controls in the cockpit could be programmed to control the software, same as a keyboard. Our problem comes in that we need to display the MFD's and HUD on separate monitors than the actual simulator, to add to the realism of space flight. For instance, the only thing we want visible on the main screen is the view of space, with no controls or anything. The cockpit will be outfitted with 4 - 5 monitors, and we want to be able to display the HUD and MFD's on these.
We also would like to have the ability to remote control the spacecraft from mission control, which would require multimple controllers being plugged in to the same program.
Does anyone know if this is possible with Orbiter? and if not, would anyone be willing to help us explore way to make these available?
Thanks so much for your help!
