Thanksgiving sky: Jupiter, Venus, moon together

We get to see this smiley face on 1 Dec (Moon - smile, Venus/Jupiter - eyes): :speakcool:

I was showing Venus and Jupiter to my nephew and neice this evening after we ate dinner. Didn't see a moon, yet, though. Very striking in the dusk sky.

Lets hope we have good weather.
I'm really hoping for good weather for the Moon's occultation of Jupiter on 29 Dec. I've even got my prime and backup observing locations picked out already ;)

I just looked at Australias weather forecast, heavy clouds are going to be along the east coast, all through the 29th :compbash:

Hmm, looks I'll have to do a handstand to see your smiley face. :) Meanwhile, I wish a good weather will be here too, because I want to take a dusk shot of the ISS and the Endeavor flying alongside.

The moon will occult Venus (pass in front of it and thus block it out) on the 1st Dec.
A nice pic of it on APOD:

What it looked like from a little north of me (the cloud on the left of the image is why I missed out on seeing this :():
