I have just downloaded the Orbiter 2024 and EVERY scenario caused the game to desktop !
I have not been able to play orbiter for a year or 2 now because of scenario failures
I remember when orbiter first came on the scene , every scenario would work and it was a joy to play
is this what is called progress?
my system is: -
Nvidia GEFORCE RTX intel core
Windows 11 64 bit laptop
MSI cyborg15A12U

Hi there!
Can you please post the Orbiter.log file?
Are you running orbiter.exe or orbiter_NG.exe + D3D9? The latter is recommended, especially for more recent systems.

Same here... Was working fine then the dreaded Windows Update strikes... Now it's crashing all over the place and its not just Orbiter 2024... Note to self... Turn off "Updates"... ^^^

Some time ago, Orbiter 2024 crashed, and I found this workaround:
I also copied the zlib.dll in the server folder. Then the launchpad started, but the Orbiter-simulation did not find the modules.
Now I run the shortcut as Adminstrator, that works. Thats ok for me now.

Remember - in this case - to run Orbiter as Administrator.

Back in the days of DOS, it had a thing called Setver (Set Version) If you wanted to run an executable written for DOS 3, and you were running DOS 6.2, you set Setver for the program to DOS 3. It built an environment that looked like native to the app, so you could run virtually anything. Why couldn’t Microsoft do that in Windows? Then you could run something built for XP in 11, because the app thinks it’s in XP. Then you could run any Orbiter flavor you like. But, that would be too easy! My bad. Then I could run my Jet Fighter 2 again.

Fortunately I still have my Windows 8, 7/Vista, and XP computers with the old stuff still on them... My Windows 98/95 systems and original Packard Bell Pentium 166 are long gone... I guess I could recreate them but can't see it being worth it other than for nostalgia... ^^^
