I just wanted to update all the Module-Messagin-aware-MFDs for Orbiter 2010.
For all MFD's (TransX, Basesync etc...) I found recent 2010-versions, but not for BurnTimeCalcMFD.
The download has the title "BurnTimeCalcMFD (BTC) 3.1 for Orbiter 2010" but points to the 2016-version/build.

The 20010 BTC 2.9 version I have, has some issues with the "GET" function.
It works but gives sometimes strange values (i.e. 90 seconds to much DV-burn whne "GETed" from TransX).

I am using Orbiter in Linux-Wine...maybe that's the problem.
However, using the latest BTC in Orbiter-2016, works perfectly fine.

Any ideas ?

EDIT:

I found a working link to BTC3.0 (so not 3.1...which just includes a sound when armed):

This version works for all the recent MMext-aware MFDs, like i.e. TransX, BaseSync and GlideSlope-MFD

Looks like a simple error by Enjo. PM him and I'm sure he can fix it very quickly.

Ok...I have sent him a PM with the details.
For me, Orbiter 2010 is still alive.
It's nice on frames and plenty of great add-ons available.

Esp. in Linux/WINE, it's much more stable in my environment.

Can't you smell my T levels?
Of course it's alive. The download counts don't lie :)
Thanks for reporting. It should be working again, but please check it for me.

Many thanks for taking care.
The BTC-2010-link points to the correct build, now.
I have tested it and it works without any issues, even the new sound works in my install.

Btw...for all the MMext-aware MFDS, I can use "Orbiter De-allocate Memory"-option in Orbiter's debug-menu. (recommended exit of Orbiter, to clean-up memory and variables for next start).
No crashes on exit...even in Linux/Wine. :tiphat:

Thanks again

EDIT:

I tested this BTC build a bit further and got a serious problem:

-scenario was an docked DGIV at ISS
-undocked
-GET'ed burntime-values from BasesyncMFD and got the new "bing"
-as soon as the new "bing" has been played, the rest of Orbiter-Sound stopped to make any sounds (i..e the aircondition was quite)
-when tried to "force" to play another Orbiter-Sound (i.e. switching from rotation to translation), Orbiter freezed-up.
-no error...just a freeze

So it seems to be, that the new "bing-event" causes issues with Orbiter-Sound.

This is very weird, because I don't interact with OrbiterSound at all, I just play a wave file using plain WinAPI. I'll try to reproduce it here on the next weekend and probably create a config file for disabling the BTC sound completely.
Launch MFD uses the same sound scheme now. Are you able to freeze up Orbiter with Launch MFD sounds as well?

I was thinking about this, too.
Never had issues with the sound played in LaunchMFD.
Could be possible a Wine / Pulseaudio issue ?
The only differences I can remember compared when used trouble-free LaunchMFD:

-I used the DGIV...I never tried LaunchMFD with the DGIV
-I used a music-player in the background, maybe this caused an issue between your PlayWave vs OrbiterSound vs Musicplayer.

Too many variables for now...I will do some more testing to rule out all the stuff and will report here within the next days...
My current workaround is to use BTC 3.0 for now.

---------- Post added at 10:29 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:55 PM ----------

Did some more testing, because I have had a similar issue with LaunchMFD, too.

For a good sound-stress-test I used this vessel:

Here I have multiple sounds running during launch:
-the reactor looping-sound
-the engines + RCS
-a constant warning beep-beep, because I overheated the reactor...:)

When reached half-orbit-speed, I got the vocal-message from LaunchMFD, and all sounds went quite....
After forcing a sound (RCS-switch), Orbiter freezed-up again.

This seems to be a "Your Wav-Call" vs. "Orbiter-Sound" vs "Pulseaudio" issue.
So..pure Linux/Wine-related and not worth your time to troubleshoot this further.

I found a workaround:
-I need to reset Pulseaudio before starting Wine/Orbiter+reducing Pulse-Audio latency(so better sound but more CPU-usage).

So far, I have done two tests, and no issues any more.

I would say, as a compromise and for maximum compatibility, making this sound-callouts as a "CFG-option" would be great.

I don't have such issues in Orbiter2016, but here I use XRSound and no OrbiterSound.

Care to document the workaround here?

I am still testing.
Bad news, the problem is very intermittent....no clear pattern.
But if it happens, it ends up always the same:
-LaunchMFD or BTC-MFD are playing their wave-file
-(very) intermittent...all other sounds are gone....so it's quite
-as soon as OrbiterSound tries to play a new sound (i.e. RCS-switch...ambient-sound etc...) Orbiter freezed-up without anything in the log

I have done plenty of testing to check if there might be Pulseaudio vs. ALSA issues.
At the end...I screwed-up my entire sound-config...:)
I have reverted all back now, but the issue remains.
I didn't have any Linux-Sound issues in the last 10 years, just this one...:(

Maybe I should try good old OSS instead (+it's limitations...)?

The problem is, that we don't know (and never will), what the Orbiter sound frameworks do. All I can offer is making the config file (in future). I'm also happy, that it works for Orbiter2016. As a temporary solution to you, my friend, I propose to simply delete my sound files from the Sound folder. Then the WinAPI function should return an error, although my framework will display an annoying message.

Deleting/renaming the sound-file didn't help.
It seems to be, that the SYSCALL to play a sound is enough to reproduce the issue.
But again, this is pure intermittent and hard to troubleshoot (...and somehow not worth the trouble...).
Luckily you have a sound FALSE/TRUE setting in LaunchMFD, which helps me a lot :)
For BTC, I am using BTC 3.0...(so...no sound)I am fine with this.
