This soundpack now provides the Apollo 16 mission in AMSO with detailed audio files. An emphasis was made on providing all the radio traffic in real-time during the first four hours of flight. This covers launch up to LM extraction. After this overviews from the major events up to post TEI commentary are covered. If I can later update the soundpack a separate patch will be provided at the same time so others can avoid a re-download.

I also included in the "Doc" folder a small previously uploaded add-on, "Tracking Network Bases for AMSO V3." This simply adds "bases" with no details just names and coordinates to the Map MFD to represent the Apollo era Manned Spaceflight Network (MSFN) for a little extra detail in the parking orbit phase.

INSTALLATION

Just unzip into your Orbiter main directory. Same applies to the extra Zip file included in the "Doc" folder.

Many thanks to Dr. Martin Schweiger for creating Orbiter, and ACSoft for AMSO.

Have fun in the briar patch.

Enjoy!

***UPDATE*** v1.2 August 2014

Added some matching sets of WAV files between both CSM & LM, this enables one to fly the post ascent LM rendezvous to station-keep, 360 yaw, on to docking with the same audio available for both vessels regardless of vessel focus. Also, added a few scenarios for this phase.

Thank for your work at putting this together....it is very much appreciated!
I look forward to the finished product,as well..Keep up the great work!

Thank you. I'll have to try later.

Have you seen this:

I think it is possible to actually simulate the MSFN more directly now than static bases. Would it be O.K. if at some point I transferred your data to the space network plugin configs?

Thanks. Yes I have. Well, the thing is I already gave fred18 my permission to use the base data from that "Tracking Network Bases for AMSO V2" for his very interesting add-on there. If anyone else wants to use the base data from that it's fine by me. But he did ask first.

What was the capability of the recovery ships to communicate with the spacecraft?

I mean, I completed the network with fred18's permission. When I tested it, the recovery ships were being treated as regular tracking stations. I'm skeptical that they could be used as such. But I would believe that Apollo had some kind of aviation radio, to talk to the carrier near recovery.

Also, where did you get the info on the ARIA? From Pre-Launch Mission Operation Reports?

OK. Recovery was just VHF I assumed also. The reentry ships had more from reading that stuff. The ARIA info I used was from those mission reports mostly, and some sites I don't recall.

So I'll take the recovery ships off of the network. (?)

This is awesome. I've really been enjoying it! One note though, on the CSM "no circ" difficulties, all of the audio files pretain to the LM (LM-0973430 through LM-1023932) when they should pretain to the CSM. The CSM Casper was maneuvering back to the LM Orion so the focus should be set to that vessel until the final separation maneuver by Casper is made.

I put the Hornet and Atlantic recovery ship in there as an extra.

Hi, thanks. Glad you like it. "Oops" on the no circ vessel focus. I'm biased to the LM when I fly that, switching back and forth. I can fix that on the update.
