API Question Writing an Orbiter Device Context to a File

Finally got around to testing that... and whatever in that code works, it works well! :) Thanks a bunch computerex! When I was diggin through the MSDN originally I never found those functions, but yours did the trick.

API Question Writing an Orbiter Device Context to a File

That might be helpful computerex, but I think my problem stems from getting the original bitmap information from oapiGetDC instead of the MSDN GetDC. I'm wondering if orbiter has some special way of storing these bitmaps. I will definitely look through your code to figure out if mine has a...

API Question Writing an Orbiter Device Context to a File

No secrets here... the last post just ended up being short because it was late at night here. Artlav: let me show you what I'm trying to do.... Here is the bitmap that is loaded into orbiter that I want to use as a background to draw upon. Below is a picture of how that bitmap is bitblt...

API Question Writing an Orbiter Device Context to a File

Hello all, I'm trying to write a DC that is handled by orbiter out to a file and am having some troubles, hope you guys can help. I have a surface that is being used in an Orbiter 2D panel that I would like to draw on and then output to a bitmap file. I can use oapiGetDC to get the actual...

Idea Mercury and Gemini add-on improvements

I agree, I think we lost quite a few people's day-to-day attention, but the good news is when we do finally release, they'll be truly surprised! I think Ford Perfect is actually working on those again. :) You actually pegged it here... but I don't think we've de-prioritized the landing...

Idea Mercury and Gemini add-on improvements

I don't know... I prefer the saying... "Good things come to those who wait." But more accurate is probably, "Better is the enemy of good enough." To be honest, the BETA as it stands now is nothing like the '05/'06 version. Everything in the actual Apollo spacecraft was so...

API Question Virtual Cockpit & Mesh Manipulation API Clarifications

I'm trying to wrap my head around how the meshes and such are handled. Lets say I have a VC mesh to start from, this mesh is just the basic mesh everything will be built upon. Now I have some switches that I'd like to add a visual representation of. They all look the same, but they're in...

Direct (Jupiter) v. Ares...the debate continues

In defense of the decision not to use the HHLV... when designed, they were designed to lower safety factors, which while possible to re-qualify, becomes a quagmire if numerous structural pieces need redesigning (beefy structure increases weight decreases payload). I know one of the two (Delta...

    Animator vs. Gmax

Your view is set to Perspective.... change it to User (right click on the upper left hand side of the viewbox->View->User) and you'll not have any culling. This is very annoying... I haven't found a way to fix it, but I think its in the exporter, not gmax. Fix point 1 and what people tell...

    Question SDL?

Ok, it may not be the solution to an Open Source rendering, but like you said OpenGL should accomplish that and that was looking good for a while. The biggest stumbling block was 2D interfaces, and SDL should do those well yes/no?

    Question SDL?

Has anyone looked at it? It would seem to be a good answer to universal program porting, and I've heard nothing but good about it. Finally, it would seem that it has an extremely small footprint when running.
