    Hardware Shimmering Night Lights

It's a clean install, no mods loaded. I had previously tried the "do not load mip maps" setting, but that didn't seem to affect it. I had also tried setting everything in control center to "let application decide". I don't see any way of turning ansiotropic filtering off in CCC. I can only set...

    Hardware Shimmering Night Lights

I know this is a graphics issue, but I don't know how to fix it. On the night side, ground lights have a shimmering effect. I've tried various video settings in both Orbiter and Catalyst Control Center. Can anyone give me some suggestions? Thanks in advance.

New Orbiter Beta Released (r.13, Mar 7, 2015)

Same error for me after updating to Rev 8. ---------- Post added at 03:11 AM ---------- Previous post was at 03:10 AM ---------- Yeah, I tried that, but it didn't work for me. Will dig deeper and see what I can find. ---------- Post added at 03:24 AM ---------- Previous post was at 03:11...

    So there I was...

Darned time machine... set me off by one year. :beathead: Maybe it's time to recalibrate the plutonium crystal alignment again.

    Flight Question Planetary Pinball

It really depends on your current situation at Venus. Are you in orbit around Venus? If so, you'll need to set Venus as your SRC in IMFD plan then use the orbit eject function. Are you just passing by? If so, a slingshot might be your best bet. Otherwise, wait until you leave the Venus SOI and...

    So there I was...

Hmmm... I know it's a month old, but I find this thread interesting. I thought I would share a couple of my interesting moments, most of which are due to bugs. 3) On my first trip to Mars, I attempted to land on Deimos. Imagine my surprise when I descended through that lump of rock and landed...

    Problem Orbiter 2010P1 crashing.

Glad it worked out. I've run into graphics drivers issues as well, but on other programs.

    Problem Playback time warp problem

I did some moon hopping around Jupiter recently using the Outer Planets Moons add-on and IMFD. Imagine my surprise when I discovered the ISS orbiting Jupiter around 50G. There are some bugs in IMFD. A lot of weird things like that happen with IMFD when you have other vessels in the scenario.

    Problem Orbiter 2010P1 crashing.

I also had the same issue with a clean install. When I updated to the latest Beta, my crashes stopped - at least the crashes to the desktop. I still have a tendency to crash into the surface of a planet from time to time. I would suggest at least trying to install the latest Beta into a...

General Question SCRAMJET sound for default DG-S

I love the SCRAMJET sound included with the XR-2. However, I noticed that the default DG-S, though it has a SCRAMJET, has no sound. I've searched the forums but I couldn't find where anyone has added that sound to the default DG-S. I see that the SDK can be used to add sound, but I'm not a...

    Problem Continued AAP problem

I'm still having the atmospheric autopilot "out of control" issue even after applying Mogeley's fix. Here are the steps I took. Please let me know if I did something incorrectly: 1) Copied the entire Mogeley script from Orbiter Forum 2) Pasted it into the orbiter/script/dg/aap.lua file...

TransX Transx from parking orbit / ISS to Mars

Ooops! That was a typo. I've corrected it.

TransX Transx from parking orbit / ISS to Mars

Finally! Success! Ok, I finally figured this out. I've spent a lot of hours trying different methods of achieving a trip to other planets while parked in an off-plane orbit, and I found one that works beautifully. Between dealing with work-arounds for Transx bugs and CTD's for various other...

TransX Transx from parking orbit / ISS to Mars

I planned the same way early on - until I watched your videos a few weeks ago. That 51982 date is almost magic. It seems to be a very good date to burn to get to Mars without having to spend 30 minutes creating a plan by tweaking all the parameters. ---------- Post added at 07:54 PM ----------...

TransX Transx from parking orbit / ISS to Mars

Lol... That was one of the original problems I had, which prompted my first post in this thread. But, I'm trying to do it from existing orbit rather than launch. At launch, I have no problems with it based on the way he does it in his videos. Are you trying it from orbit too?

TransX Transx from parking orbit / ISS to Mars

Lol.. That reminds me of the Joe Walsch song, "Life's Been Good" - "I go to parties sometimes until 4. It's hard to leave when you can't find the door." You are correct, sir, in both errors - guilty of both. Are you talking about the eject orientation function here, or are you talking about...

TransX Transx from parking orbit / ISS to Mars

I too have noticed that the crosshairs are never centered even when burning purely prograde. As for the tesseract, it caused me many sleepless nights. And still does when I revisit it. ---------- Post added at 01:07 AM ---------- Previous post was at 01:01 AM ----------...

TransX Transx from parking orbit / ISS to Mars

Ok, here it is. I think I see what's wrong. It's the negative plane change, which would certainly flip the orbit as I explained earlier. When planning, I usually add a small amount of prograde first, then I adjust plane change to move closer to the yellow lines, then I move on to date and...

TransX Transx from parking orbit / ISS to Mars

Yup... That's it... Before the days of Google, though, you were on your on. ;) But it's still hard to think about it in the 4th dimension.

TransX Transx from parking orbit / ISS to Mars

Hmmm... Funny, I had always pictured figure 8's when thinking about an orbital path along the sun. :) Again, thinking of things in different ways. Great video. I love mind challenges... Ever tried to figure out a tesseract in your head? That'll keep you awake for hours. ;) ---------- Post...
