    OHM Multiplayer Lite

It certainly works in general and especially for a sim, but 0.5 seconds might be a bit on the slow side. I mean, I'm just rediscovering the joys of online multiplayer and a ping of 220 ms is already somewhat noticeable. Might be worse if that adds on top of the half second interval. (edit: I...

Astrophoto thread (your own photos please)

Well, took advantage of the clear skies a while ago and took some photos. Samsung S23 Ultra on a tripod mount. Gonna try to do the same today, if I manage to stay outside long enough without freezing. As far as I can tell, the dedicated astrophoto mode is a bit underwhelming, despite its ability...

News Changes to the SpaceX BFR rocket.

Well, ook ... good thing they found that out now, at least I think the main risk is the other few launches failing due to water hammer / LO2 venting/ loss of the booster. Not exactlt encouraging

Had a bit of an issue with a portable Western Digital hard drive, specifically the one where I store my photo archive. It's not an SSD, and it's now 10 years old. As far as usage goes, it's very rarely been plugged in, only to upload or retrieve some photos from time to time. However, I use a...

Updates Artemis Program Updates & Discussions

The version I heard a few years ago was like an extra launch or two and they're going, what with 'tanker Starships' and all that. Guess the whole boil-off thing is kinda like a negative feedback loop. More launches needed means more waiting time in LEO, thus more boil-off and extra launches...

News Changes to the SpaceX BFR rocket.

I wouldn't have expected it to fail so far into the flight. At that point , even cutting the engines would have yielded useful info. Perhaps fear that it would survive reentry and fall on land? Steeper descent than nominal would make that unlikely, I guess... That vent that was there even...

How does what is basically a suborbital test flight have a launch window? They don't need to meet up with anything

What music are you listening to?

Swiftly added to the playlist used while going for a run, as well as 'bands to see live asap'. What's with Sweden being so good at music?

Yeah, I have the heavens-above app, I just didn't realize it can also go backwards from the current date. Oh well, one just needs to use the calendar feature. Turns out there was nothing too bright at that time. I guess I'll juat have to file it as 'unknown' edit: even looked up the fireball...
