I am not an expert, but could it be a problem with the DanStephs Orbiter Sound Addon? I don't think it is updated for the 2016 version of Orbiter and i heard it causes some troubles in some cases. For this reason i haven't installed it yet even though i am missing it a lot.

Maybe this isn't very helpful, but.... does it work on a clean and fresh installment, without the joystick and graphic changes?

Thank you for the efforts, ADSWNJ, but.... i have the latest Dan Stephs stuff you linked above. There is also the Orbiter\Config\Vessels\DeltagliderIV.cfg file in my installation. I guess it is really this specific scenario (shown above) wich causes the problem. Can't remember where i got it...
